Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

رقص زیبای دو دختر کورد در مراسم استقبال از نوروز در شرق کوردستان
Every year, with the arrival of spring, the excitement of Nowruz comes to life in eastern Kurdistan. The people of this country welcome the new year with open arms and honor their long-standing traditions by organizing magnificent celebrations.
One of the most important traditions of Nowruz in eastern Kurdistan is lighting the fire on the night of Eid. By lighting a fire, people drive back the darkness and cold and welcome the light and warmth of spring. Flames are a symbol of hope and good wishes for a blessed and happy year.
After lighting the fire, it is time to dance and stomp. Kurdish people in colorful local clothes gather in the squares and streets and welcome spring by playing traditional music and folk dances. Dancing and stomping are manifestations of the enthusiasm and happiness of the Kurdish people on the eve of the new year.
هر ساله با فرا رسیدن فصل بهار، شور و شادی نوروز در شرق کردستان جان میگیرد. مردمان این دیار با آغوش باز به استقبال سال نو میروند و با برپایی جشنهای باشکوه، به سنتهای دیرینه خود ارج مینهند.
یکی از مهمترین رسوم نوروز در شرق کردستان، روشن کردن آتش در شب عید است. مردم با برافروختن آتش، تاریکی و سرما را به عقب میرانند و به استقبال روشنایی و گرمای بهار میروند. شعلههای آتش، نمادی از امید و آرزوی نیک برای سالی پربرکت و شادکام است.
پس از روشن کردن آتش، نوبت به رقص و پایکوبی میرسد. مردمان کرد با لباسهای محلی رنگارنگ، در میدانها و خیابانها جمع میشوند و با نواختن موسیقی سنتی و رقصهای محلی، به استقبال بهار میروند. رقص و پایکوبی، تجلی شور و شادمانی مردم کرد در آستانه سال نو است.
