We've escaped to the wilderness & we're building our home at a cabin in the woods ... a phrase that we didn't think we'd be saying just one short year ago. Who are we?
We're Eamon and Bec, a Canadian couple who previously lived and traveled full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van!! When the pandemic hit earlier this year we made the difficult decision to abandon our van in Africa and fly home to Canada. Now we're here... living at a cabin in the Canadian wilderness. We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international travels. What it's like in Barrow, Alaska | America's Northernmost City
Hey guys! Welcome to Part 2 of my vlog series on Barrow, Alaska! What started from a dream and an idea, turned into reality for me...I had finally made it to the Northernmost Town in the United States, Utqiagvik. It's not a place for the average person, I can tell you that, but if you're one of the few that can appreciate nature in its finest and being in remote places, this is as good as it gets. What turned into a 4 day stay, my friend Justin and I walked ALL OVER Barrow and filmed as much as we could. From experience, you only really get to know a place by walking the streets, talking to the locals, and seeing everything you possibly can get from each location. I think it's safe to say we got that special experience from Barrow and it will forever be one of the best trips of my life, guaranteed. I especially loved walking on the frozen Arctic Ocean (and having a quick dip in it) along with the breathtaking Midnight Sun up in the north. For 2 1/2 months every summer, the sun never sets in Utqiagvik and for the same amount of time in the winter, there is only darkness. It was really cool seeing the sun just circling around us 360º in a halo shape the entire time we were there. Lots more things are just so special about Barrow, Alaska and I tried my best to create a video worthy of it. Hope you guys enjoy!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

Winter Day In The Life | Van Life Alaska
We have been busy behind the scenes making upgrades to our Winnebago Revel 4x4 Converted Sprinter Van. After pausing our overlanding travels around Alaska for two weeks, we are back on the road enjoying Van Life in Alaska with performance modifications including a new suspension. It's too early to share these modifications and how we feel about them but as soon as we've explored and traveled further around Alaska, we will be sharing our thoughts with you.
For now, sit back and relax as we unwind and disappear into the ice fogin a Winter Day In The Life.
