Here, the rhythm is different to the previous destinations I visited in Indonesia. With a predominantly Muslim population, this serene island, away from the bustling thoroughfares awaits with natural splendor...but the rising tide of tourism is beginning to re-shape the island. This Lombok documentary aims to show the diversity of this island covering the historic and religious background, explaining the cultural roots as well as the natural and man made sights.

This Lombok Travel Documentary is the third part of a Documentary Series called „Indonesia is not only Bali“. While many visitors mainly focus on Bali alone, Indonesia with its more than 17,000 islands offers a wealth of incredible destinations each with its unique charm and attractions.
Therefore my plan was to visit a number of different destinations to showcase the diversity of the country to the best of my ability. In this episode I’ll be embarking on a solo roadtrip adventure all around the island of Lombok with a tiny scooter and a surfboard to show you some more hidden gems, proving that there is so much more to this enchanting archipelago. In a few short years, Kuta has changed from a sleepy seaside village into the main focus of tourism development in Lombok
In order to show you the whole diversity of Indonesia I tried to cover the majority of sights in this Lombok Documentary from the south over the West, north to the east as well as the volcanos and waterfalls in the center of Lombok.

After travelling in Bali for over a month, we decided to explore one of its' sister island, Lombok. We couldn't believe how beautiful and untouched this island is. If you have been to Bali, you'd know by now; if you want to enjoy anything in peace you MUST be up very early but here we were surprised to arrive in top spots at mid day and barely any tourists around.
Lombok left us speechless and wanting for more. Here's the reasons why you should visit Lombok and experience this for yourself! Watch till the end you'll surely be surprised by what we discovered there, A HIDDEN PARADISE!

*On a previous trip when I had more money, I stayed here... 100% worth the treat if you're up for it because it's got local character, awesome private beach and amazing buffet dinners*
SEKOTONG - best area to stay to visit the secret southern Gili islands. This place had a private beach and easy to get private boat tours to the islands.
MATARAM - a super cheap room in the heart of the city so it's easy to get GoJek and they have parking for cars and bikes. It's surprisingly quiet inside and the staff are very nice and helpful.
