Why You Should Cycle Around Hokkaido - Japan Bike Trip #1

I take a ferry to Hokkaido and spend three weeks cycling around it.
I visit national parks, search for bears, climb mountains, and enjoy the beautiful scenery (when I'm not stuck in clouds).

This is the first video from my Japan bike trip.

In summer 2017, I finished my job and set off to cycle Japan from north to south. Cape Soya to Cape Sata.
Although I've travelled to many places in Japan, this Hokkaido bike trip was my favourite!

The National Parks I visited were:
- Rishiri Rebun Sarobetsu National Park
- Shiretoko National Park
- Akan National Park
- Daisetsuzan National Park

Japan's Most Beautiful Cycling Route | Shimanami Kaido Travel Guide

Shimanami Kaido is one of Japan's most famous cycling routes connecting the main island Honshu with Shikoku.

Ever since I heard about this bikeway a few months ago, I knew I had to travel there some day to experience it for myself!!

So, I packed up my bags, bought a Shinkansen ticket and took a spontaneous trip down to Onomichi, Hiroshima.

Shimanami Kaido Bikeway runs between Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari in Ehime Prefecture, hopping across 6 islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

You can start your journey from either the Hiroshima side or the Ehime side. I started from the Hiroshima side because the views get better and better as you go along towards Ehime.

So, hope you enjoy the new adventure with me and let me know in the comments something you have always wanted to do!! And then MAKE time for it and actually go do it! :D

We Cycled to Shirakawago from Kanazawa (One of the Most Beautiful Bike Routes in Japan!)

We rode 64 miles (103km) with 7500' of elevation from just outside Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go (白川郷), a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Our route took us through 3 prefectures (Ishikawa, Toyama, and Gifu), over steep mountain passes, and across beautiful bridges. Seeing the Sho River gorge by bike is incredible. It was definitely an adventurous route at times, but the stunning scenery (both along the way and in the village) is something I'll never forget!

????600km Bicycle Trip in Hokkaido! Japan Travel Vlog????????

A while back ago, I had an amazing bicycle trip in Hokkaido, Japan. I traveled around 600km in a week. It was by far the most amazing experience I had in Japan. The scenery, people and the food... everything was so magical.
Most people only go to Sapporo, Otaru and Hakodate, but this huge prefecture of Japan has so much more to offer.

I hope this was interesting! You can watch the whole series from the playlist below. It has better graphics (4K) and un-cut scenes.

Hokkaido Bicycle Tour 2018: Part 1_ Let's go to Hokkaido, JAPAN!

My very first Solo Bicycle Tour Travel. I travel to Japan 2nd largest northern most island of Hokkaido, separated by the Tsugaru strait from Honshu mainland of Japan. I'm checked in for 2 nights at the Air Hostel LLC in Chitose, 12min from Airport. Great Hostel (recommended) with options for single rooms available. I realized that I wasn't mentally prepared for what I was getting into, over planned my routes, being overconfident of my abilities I had to make some changes to my agenda. Pre ride check list all good, body ok, mind... not so ready yet! Getting ready for the ride into the unknown.

BIKEPACKING JAPAN: 1,800 km from Hokkaido to Hiroshima

Alex , Travis, and I bikepack some 1,800 km across Japan over 25 days. Our journey took us from Chitose, Hokkaido to Hiroshima.

We almost got attacked by a monkey, our camp was flooded by a super-typhoon one night, and much karaoke was sung.
