And he dedicates the talk to South African leader Nelson Mandela, the human embodiment of that same great-hearted, generous spirit.

Nelson Mandela in India: I would like to salute all the leaders of Indian business

Nelson Mandela speaks about Indian business leaders. He says, Who wondered to find a wise man to lead his country he then decides to leave his village to find this man of wisdom. He crossed planes, famous rivers and the highest mountains. It is in that spirit that we are here today may I express my heartfelt appreciation for this opportunity to address such a distinguished gathering of leaders of Indian business and to share with you. I guess about the development of trade and investment between our two countries but first on behalf of all South Africans I would like to salute all the leaders of Indian business who stood over so many decades with the Government of India in opposition to the intricacies of a party.

Robben Island, South Africa -- In the footsteps of Nelson Mandela

For 18 years a cell on Robben Island in South Africa was home to Nelson Mandela. It is now a Museum and World Heritage site. It is located across Table Bay opposite Cape Town and has been a hospital, a quarantine station, a leper colony and most notably used as a jail for the isolation of political prisoners. It was here that Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his 27 year sentence for fighting against apartheid and where his reputation grew as the most significant black leader in South Africa. The feature reveals the conditions under which Mandela was imprisoned. For more information visit and check out episode #27 in the International category.

SOUTH AFRICA: Historic ROBBEN ISLAND ????, Nelson Mandela's prison and cell (CAPE TOWN)

Robben Island in Cape Town, South Africa - Robben island tour, the jail and cell of Nelson Mandela in Cape Town, South Africa, top sites to see! Let's go for a complete tour of Robben Island in Cape Town and watch me as I visit Nelson Mandela's historic jail and cell, at Robben Island in Cape Town, South Africa.
Robben Island (Afrikaans: Robbeneiland) is an island in Table Bay, 6.9 kilometres (4.3 mi) west of the coast of Bloubergstrand, Cape Town, South Africa. Robben Island takes its name from the Dutch word for seals (robben), hence the Dutch/Afrikaans name Robbeneiland which translates to Seal(s) Island. Political activist Nelson Mandela was imprisoned at Robben Island for 18 of the 27 years he served behind bars before the fall of apartheid and expansion of the franchise to all residents of the country. He was later awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace and was elected in 1994 as President of South Africa, serving one term. In addition, two other former inmates of Robben Island have been elected as President of South Africa since the late 1990s: Kgalema Motlanthe and Jacob Zuma.
