The reason for this? Skyrocketing rental prices due to gentrification which have made living in certain neighborhoods impossible for locals.
This negative attitude towards foreigners has some people worried as tourism to Medellin, Colombia reaches all time highs and the rise of rental prices has no end in sight.
In this video I interviewed a few Medellin locals to find out what they thought about this situation and foreigners in general.

Apparently what they do is they -- it's not just bad manners, strange, or aggressive behavior. Remember when that two Muslim women last month were removed from that JetBlue flight? Because -- they were questioned because they were filming in-flight safety procedures. And a lot of the, you know, the Muslim American community is like, Oh that's not fair. Why were they kicked off the plane? I think it's odd to film in-flight safety procedures. Doesn't anyone else think that's odd? They should be kicked off the plane for that. But of course the, you know, the activists out there are going to say, Oh no, you can't do that. We don't need you to be filming the security procedures on the plane, and we don't need to look at your underwear, and we don't need people shouting in Arabic on the plane. I'm sorry but that makes people -- 15 years still after 9/11 -- quite nervous, and for good reason.
