What's it like to travel to and from Sint Maarten? (A look inside St. Maarten's airport)
Sint Maarten's Princess Juliana International Airport or PJIA reopened to travelers on August 1st 2020 after being closed to non essential travel for months.
The PJIA task force in charge of keeping the airport clean and safe has put all the necessary measures in place to keep passengers and airport staff safe and secure.
St. Maarten's airport, at one time the second busiest after Puerto Rico's, is at the moment, not unlike other airports around the world, quiet as many refrain from traveling for a while.
It has also been operating at only 30% since the massive damage it sustained after Hurricane Irma but plans are underway to restore it to its former glory. The new and improved airport is scheduled to be finished in 2023.

We've made our way to a new island (for us), Saint Martin / Sint Maarten. In this video we explore the island for the first time.
We start things off on the French side of Saint Martin where we get an amazing viewpoint at Fort Louis. Then we head into the town of Marigot where we grab a French pastry at Chez Fernand.
We then head over to the Dutch side to Maho Beach, the famous beach beside the airport where planes fly directly overhead.
Lastly we head back to our AirBNB in Nettle Bay and give a tour of the studio apartment we rented:

St. Barth Day Trip from St. Maarten - [a Travel Vlog]
One of the great things about a visit to st. Maarten is that it's so easy to visit one of the neighboring islands, like St. Barth.
St. Barth, short for St. Barthelemy, is only 8 square miles and easy to explore by car or scooter. Hike to one of the two natural pools, shop luxury brands, discover the beaches, enjoy French and Creole cuisine, or look out for land turtles, which there are plenty of roaming the island.
We took the Great Bay Express ferry in the morning and were back by 7 in the evening. How would you spend a day in St. Barth?

Tour Of St. Martin (St. Maarten) / Exploring The Island On Your Own
We recently took a trip to St. Martin it was one of the stops on our Princess Cruise. This country is known for its beautiful unique beaches and has some great shopping areas. St. Martin or St. Maarten, is divided in half with one side being the Dutch side and the other side being the French side. If your cruise port is in Philipsburg, it is located on the Dutch side. We rented a Jeep for the day and toured both sides of the island. We want to give you a look at both St. Martin and St. Maarten to show you what there is to do here, some of our recommendations, and the overall vibe of the island and residents.
