The only Spanish speaking country in Africa | Short history of Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

#equatorialguinea #Malabo is the capital city of Equatorial Guinea. The country is the only nation on the continent that speaks Spanish. I take you through a short history of Equatorial Guinea.

Equatorial Guinea's capital is Malabo, historically known as Santa Isabel. It is located on the rim of a dormant volcano on the northernmost tip of the island of Bioko (also known as Fernando Po). It has one of the Bight of Biafra's most challenging climates (Gulf of Guinea). The republic's financial and commercial hub is Malabo. The principal industry is the export of cocoa, lumber, and coffee, and its harbour, one of the deepest seaports in the area, can dock numerous ships. Also, it has an international airport with connections to the continental Equatorial Guinean city of Bata, as well as to other nations in Africa, Europe, and the US. With the riots of 1969 and later when the Nigerian contract workers left the city in the middle of the 1970s, the city's European population started to drop. Business and development in the city increased as a result of the 1980s and 1990s discovery and exploitation of the nation's oil riches.

Asia's Only LATIN TOWN (They Speak Spanish Here)

After many years, I finally made it down to ZAMBOANGA, a lovely town in the very South Western corner of the Philippines!

Believe it or not, they speak SPANISH here! Well, it's not 100% Spanish, it's called Chabacano which is more of a Creole (mixed) dialect that developed when the Spaniards settled here almost 500 years ago.

Not surprisingly, Zamboanga is dubbed Asia's Latin Town for its strong roots in Spanish culture that can be seen not only in the language but also in the cuisine and lifestyle.

I've had a GREAT time here so far and I hope this video opens your eyes to a lesser-known part of the Philippines -- my favorite country in the world.

AFRICANOS HABLANDO ESPAÑOL (GUINEA ECUATORIAL) PALABRAS del ESPAÑOL que solo se DICEN EN ÁFRICA

¡Holaaa!

It is made up of two main regions: Bioko Island, which is where the capital city of Malabo is located, and Río Muni, which is on the mainland. Equatorial Guinea is a country of contrasts, with a rich history and diverse cultures. It is also a country with a rapidly growing economy, thanks to its oil and gas reserves. In this article, we will explore the history, geography, people, facts, and economy of Equatorial Guinea. We will also take a look at the country's future prospects. I hope you will find this article interesting and informative!

About Equatorial Guinea
Equatorial Guinea is a small country located on the west coast of Africa.

Equatorial Guinea is not a major player on the world stage, but it is important for a few reasons. First, it is located in a strategic position on the Gulf of Guinea, which is a major shipping route. Second, it has a large oil and gas industry, which is important for the global economy. Third, it is a member of the African Union and the United Nations, which gives it a voice on the international stage.
Equatorial Guinea's reputation around the world is mixed. On the one hand, the country is often praised for its economic growth and its potential as a future oil and gas producer. On the other hand, Equatorial Guinea has been criticized for its human rights record and its high level of corruption.
Overall, Equatorial Guinea is a country with a lot of potential. However, it also faces some challenges, such as corruption and poverty. The country's future reputation will depend on how it addresses these challenges.

The History of Equatorial Guinea
Equatorial Guinea has a long and complex history, dating back to the 15th century. The first Europeans to arrive in the region were the Portuguese, who established a trading post on Bioko Island in 1472. The island was then known as Fernando Poo.
In the 17th century, the Spanish took control of Bioko Island. They also established a colony on the mainland, which was known as Río Muni. The Spanish ruled Equatorial Guinea for over 300 years.
In 1968, Equatorial Guinea gained independence from Spain. The first president of Equatorial Guinea was Francisco Macías Nguema. Macías Nguema was a brutal dictator who ruled the country for 11 years. He was overthrown in a coup d'état in 1979.
Since 1979, Equatorial Guinea has had a turbulent history. There have been several coups d'état and the country has been plagued by corruption. However, the country has also made some progress in recent years. The economy has grown significantly, thanks to the discovery of oil and gas reserves.
Equatorial Guinea is still a young country, but it has a lot of potential. The country has a young and growing population, and it is located in a strategic position on the Gulf of Guinea. If Equatorial Guinea can address its challenges, it could become a prosperous country in the future.
