US Considers New System To Open International Travel

US Considers New System To Open International Travel

✈ In this video:
0:00 US Considers New System To Open International Travel

1:27 US Considers New System To Open International Travel

The easing of the US travel ban to most of Europe has been highly anticipated.

It has been revealed that the United States is developing a new system for international travel that will include requiring Covid vaccination and contact tracing for when the country eventually lifts travel restrictions.

According to the White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients, the US does not plan to immediately relax any travel restrictions citing COVID-19 Delta variant cases

The White House previously confirmed it was considering mandating vaccines for foreign international visitors.

The American people need to trust that the new system for international travel is safer even as we - I mean at that point - we'll be letting in more travelers — Zients

Some industry officials fear the Biden administration may not lift travel restrictions for months or potentially until 2022.

The administration wanted to lift travel restrictions as soon as we can, Zients said.

2:47 US Travel restrictions

It has been reported that the new system will include collecting contact tracing data from passengers travelling into the United States to enable the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to contact travellers if exposed to COVID-19.

Zients said they want the new system to be ready to press go on when it is safe to lift restrictions. We get the importance of this, Zients said.

The United States currently bars most non-US citizens who within the last 14 days have been in the United Kingdom,

the 26 Schengen countries in Europe without border controls, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran and Brazil.

The United States separately bars non-essential travel by most non-US citizens at US land borders with Mexico and Canada.

Critics say restrictions no longer make sense because some countries with high rates of COVID-19 infections are not on the restricted list while some countries on the list have the pandemic under control.

Airlines and other travel companies have pushed the current administration to ease the restrictions, particularly on UK visitors.

Do you think the US will lift the travel ban soon? Talk to us in the comment section below.

No More Quarantine Between Europe & USA: Launch of Quarantine Free Flights

No More Quarantine Between Europe & USA - Delta Airlines Set To Launch Quarantine-Free Flights To Italy

No More Quarantine Between Europe & USA: Launch of Quarantine Free Flights

Quarantine-Free Travel Is Back US & Europe to launch Pilot Travel Program

U.S. Airline Set to Launch ‘Quarantine-Free” Flight to Italy No Need To Quarantine Again

✈ In this video:
0:00 - No More Quarantine Between Europe & USA - Delta Airlines Set To Launch Quarantine-Free Flights To Italy

0:47 - U.S. Airline Set to Launch Quarantine-Free Flight to Italy

Quarantine-free travel between the US and Europe is a step closer with the announcement that Delta Airlines will launch a COVID-19 testing program on its flights between Atlanta and Rome.

Delta Airlines is working with Italy's national airline, Alitalia, to resume an air route that has been closed since the rise of the pandemic.

Both airlines are launching COVID-tested, quarantine-free flights between the U.S. and Italy starting in December.

The new program will allow a limited number of passengers to take transatlantic flights between Atlanta and Rome without having to quarantine upon arrival.

In a press release, the US airline explained that it had developed a rigorous COVID-19 testing regime, with assistance from the Mayo Clinic, as well as the state government of Georgia and the Italian government, which would allow travellers to fly between Atlanta and Rome without the need to quarantine.

Carefully designed COVID-19 testing protocols are the best path for resuming international travel safely and without quarantine until vaccinations are widely in place — Steve Sear

The program will see travellers take four tests over the course of their trip as follows:

* A COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test taken up to 72 hours before departure
* A rapid test administered at the airport in Atlanta before boarding
* A rapid test on arrival in Rome-Fiumicino
* A rapid test at Rome-Fiumicino before departure to the United States

These measures, combined with deep cleaning, social distancing, mask-wearing and other safety protocols, will allow people to travel safely on these Delta Airlines flights between Atlanta and Rome and remove the need to quarantine on arrival, significantly reducing some of the barriers which are currently stopping people from travelling abroad.

The news offers hope that similar COVID-free air corridors may be opened up between the US and other countries, allowing travellers to resume overseas vacations without having to waste precious holiday time in self-isolation.

03:12 - Winning back customers

Airlines around the world have been developing creative solutions and workarounds in order to get people flying again safely amid the pandemic, with strict COVID-19 testing programs emerging as a key new feature of travel.

Several airlines have already announced pilot testing programs which they hope will enable quarantine-free travel between certain destinations.

04:12 - Travel Ban Between US and Europe

While the Delta Airlines testing program is undoubtedly good news, its use will be fairly limited due to the travel ban between the US and Europe that remains in place at present.

The U.S. is reportedly considering lifting restrictions on European arrivals, but there are currently no signs that the EU will reciprocate this move.

04:57 - Start of the Program

Delta will begin the program on December 19 from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport for all U.S. citizens permitted to travel to Italy for essential reasons, such as work, health and education.” European Union and Italian citizens, also with essential reasons, will be allowed to travel the route.

We flew from South Korea (praised for how it reacted to covid19) to the USA (not the shinning star to look towards regarding covid). It was our first international trip in over a year and a half and our first international trip during covid19. It was also our Son's first international trip. We traveled from Korea to the USA so my family members could finally meet our son Will for the first time.

What is it like to travel during covid19? We flew internationally from Korea to Chicago, USA. Covid-1 had changed somethings in international travel. For example, the flights were very empty, flight attendants now wore masks and blue gowns, but over all it felt safe and clean.

Canada Travel Restrictions Who Can Travel To Canada Amid The Coronavirus Pandemic.

To protect Canada from the outbreak of COVID-19, the Canadian Prime Minister announced travel restrictions to Canada.

Until further notice, most foreign nationals cannot travel to Canada, even if they have a valid visitor visa or electronic travel authorisation (eTA).

The restrictions mean that most non-essential travel to Canada is banned.

- Who can enter Canada?

Other than Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent residents, people registered under Canada’s Indian Act and protected persons, all other third-country nationals, including citizens of the United States, can travel to Canada only if you are eligible.

- Foreign nationals eligible to travel to Canada

To be eligible to travel to Canada as a third country foreign national, you must either be

When you leave the port of arrival, you must go directly to your place of quarantine without delay and stay there for 14 days from the date you arrived in Canada.

As well as practising physical distancing at all times, you must use private transportation such as a private vehicle to reach your place of quarantine, if possible.

If you need to use a rest area, put on your mask and be mindful of physical distancing and good hygiene practices.

The penalties for not following your quarantine plan once you’re in the country can include

a fine of up to $750,000

6 months of jail time

being found inadmissible, removed from Canada and banned from entering for 1 year

Immediate family members of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

WHAT IT'S LIKE LIVING IN SEATTLE RIGHT NOW DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK + FLYING TO NYC (INTERVIEW)

As a passionate traveler, sitting at home in self-quarantine is TOUGH STUFF! I already miss hanging out with my friends near and far!

In today's interview, I connect with my friend Rachel in Seattle, WA (the first city in the US to experience a major COVID-19 outbreak), and discuss what her life is currently like there.

Additionally, she recently took an emergency trip to NYC in mid-March for family health reasons, so I was glad to discuss her experience traveling during the coronavirus pandemic as well. So glad I was able to record the interview to post on this channel!

I hope you all find this chat as informative as I did about the current conditions in Seattle. It sounds like the citizens have been through a rollercoaster over the past month! I am holding out hope for their city as the number of new cases is slowly starting to decrease. Fingers crossed they will be proof that early social distancing can really help!

This is what it was like scrambling to get home during the global coronavirus pandemic. In this video, we take you along with us during our 27-hour travel day from Bangkok, Thailand to Dallas, Texas during the COVID-19 global health crisis. We decided to post this vlog out of order to let you all know we are back home safely and doing our part by social distancing. We are NOT traveling currently. Over the next five months, we WILL be posting all of our past travel vlogs from our round the world trip!

US lifts international travel advisory Against Travel to Europe

It has confirmed that it would now look at countries on a case-by-case basis.

The US State Department on Thursday issued a new advisory for Europe

urging US citizens to reconsider plans for travel due to increasing cases of Covid-19 in Europe.

The Travel advisory, at the highest alert level as a level 4; Do Not Travel, was in place since March 19th, when the State Department first implemented it as the coronavirus engulfed parts of Europe and China.

On Thursday the department confirmed it would lift the advisory in collaboration with the Centres of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) then issued, on Friday, a Level 3 travel health notice for Europe after the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has increased and a number of reports state that Europe is going through its “second wave” of the coronavirus outbreak.

- Coronavirus Resurgence in Europe

Europe has made great strides with the virus after being the epicentre of the pandemic.

It suffered from a great number of cases and deaths but eventually managed to get on top of the outbreak.

Europe has recorded more than 3.3 million cases of COVID-19 and 212,861 deaths from the virus.

After a period of tough lockdown measures and travel restrictions that were put in place since March 2020, the infection rates slowed down.

Since then, the borders within the European countries mostly opened to each other slowly with a few still retaining restrictions on entry.

The US currently has over 5 million confirmed cases.

The CDC also recommends against non-essential travel to more than 200 destinations due to the high Covid-19 risk.

The CDC announcement comes a day after the State Department lifted it’s March 19 advisory warning US citizens against travelling abroad.

It should also be noted that the State Department issued its “do not travel” warning on 19 March, only three days after it also issued a level 3 advising against most travel.

We continue to recommend US citizens exercise caution when travelling abroad due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic.

Countries updated to Level 3 advisories include all European Countries

- Europe & Other Countries Ban the US from Travelling
- US Travel Ban

With specific exceptions, foreign nationals who have been in any of the following countries during the past 14 days may not enter the United States.
