The Middle East is my absolute favorite region in the world for many reasons, but none more than the hospitality. I actually never knew that people could be so friendly until I ventured off into the mountains of Afghanistan, the valleys of Yemen, the villages of Syria and the small boutique shops of Iran.
All I can say is that after spending 4+ months of my life traveling throughout the region, I can say that the Middle East is much safer and more beautiful than what the media makes it out to be!

I visited the capital city of Pyongyang in April 2017, way back when I first got my hands on a video camera, and luckily I was able to document it. I am so unbelievably sad that my 2 week trip in Syria has come to an end. This country has gone above and beyond all of my expectations in many ways, but none other than the hospitality.
Sometimes it's hard for me to communicate with you how incredible and warming these people are, because I am often not rolling my camera during the best moments. It almost doesn't make sense to me -- how can people be THIS genuine?
All I can tell you, with absolute confidence, is that Syria has the best hospitality in the world. Period.

Welcome back to the 41st episode of my $10 Series! Today I take you around the bustling city of Cairo, Egypt to see how far I can stretch $ 10 USD (PS: I got 10 items!).
I actually went to Cairo the first time in 2015 - way back when I was a budget backpacker and travel blogger (before I owned a video camera). I was young and naïve and to be honest, I didn't have a great time here.
But now, I'm back with fresh eyes and new perspectives, and let's just say that I'm enjoying Cairo about 10X as much as I did 5 years ago. It's also a very special time to visit because there are (literally) ZERO TOURISTS HERE, so I had the Pyramids of Giza all to myself. As long as you take precautions (wear a mask, avoid physical contact, wash hands frequently), then traveling is possible right now amid this new normal.

INDIA IS CHEAP - much more affordable than most countries in the world (especially if you are converting dollars!) You won't believe how many things I got in India for less than $10 USD ($8.88 to be exact)!
I've made $10 episodes in 20+ countries now (in fact, they were my first videos ever when I started my journey as a content creator) -- but I've been looking forward to this episode in India because there are literally SO many things you can get for SO cheap while traveling India. My local friend and I truly had a blast filming this today in the beautiful city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu in Southeastern India.

This is my very first time in Jakarta and I have been pleasantly surprised by how cheap the prices are. Not to mention, the street food is fantastic and the overall ambiance on the streets of Jakarta is way better than I thought.
It's too bad that Jakarta gets a bad reputation because this city is pretty cool. If the traffic wasn't so bad, I could probably live here!
