How Much Can $10 Get You in NAMIBIA?

I've decided to bring back my $10 series for an 18th episode! Today, I'm exploring the beautiful coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia -- which is really catching me by surprise. I had a lot of fun making this video in Namibia, and I hope you enjoy.

Also - many of the recent feedback I've received is that people want to see more of these $10 & $100 budget videos (and money-oriented videos in general)... Do you like this style, and want to see more of these videos? Your feedback is greatly appreciated to me so I can continue to improve.

Our G Adventures journey continues tomorrow up North to Etosha National Park in Namibia (elephants, rhinos, cheetahs... oh my!)

TEXT ME +1 310 349 3854 and I will respond :)

» THE TRADITIONAL FOOD IN MADAGASCAR

1. TSENA’NY TANTSAHA TALATAMATY: Rice Porridge + Chinese Noodle Soup
ADDRESS: Talatamaty City
OPEN: 3AM - 7AM (or whenever the police shut it down)

Four miles outside of Madagascar’s capital city, Antananarivo, lies Talatamaty City. Talatamaty City is home to one of the country’s largest local morning markets, Tsena’ny Tantsaha. Sellers open up shop at 3am, selling everything from produce to fabrics. And lucky for us, the market has no shortage of food to try as well.

????RICE PORRIDGE: Zebu (Malagasy cattle) and sausage are mixed with leaves, ginger, special Malagasy rice, porridge and spices.

????CHINESE NOODLE DISH: Pasta, macaroni, potato, mayonnaise and zebu skin.
----
2. TALATA VOLON’ONDRY: Sausage + Koba
ADDRESS: Talata Volon’ondry
OPEN: Varies

Talata Volon’ondry is a village located just outside of Antananarivo. The village is known for producing sausage and Madagascar’s national snack, koba.

????SAUSAGE: There are typically two types of sausage being sold - zebu sausage and a halal style potato sausage. This snack is frequently accompanied by local rum.

????????KOBA: Lay out banana leaf spines with banana leaves on top. Add a layer of rice flour to prevent the koba mixture from sticking to the banana leaves. Then add the koba mixture, a combination of crushed raw peanuts and sugar. Wrap it all up in the banana leaves and allow it to cook in a bit of water for 3 days.

Koba is beloved across Madagascar, primarily sold on the street or to people in their cars as they drive through a city. The fuel from the ingredients gives people energy and helps them stay full even when walking long distances without and source of food along the way.
????PRICE: Sausage .14 USD/500 MGA | Koba .50 USD/1,756 MGA

Street Food in Ghana - GIANT CHOP-BAR LUNCH and West African Food Tour in Accra!

This was an incredible day of street food in Ghana!
►Check out Jay:
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts and caps available now:

Jay (Mukase Chic) is an amazing woman, so positive and talented, and so much fun to hang out with and eat with! She’s a food personality, a chef, a restauranteur, a blogger - she’s incredible. Check out her Instagram ( and YouTube (

Anyway, so Jay took me an ultimate street food tour in Accra, here’s all the amazing food we ate:

Red red (bean stew) and plantain - This was the first stop, a small stall that Jay has been eating at for years. They fry plantain, and then serve the plantain along with beans stewed in palm nut oil, and combine it with gari, which are cassava flakes. The result, is a filling and very satisfying combination of sweet and tangy plantains with salty oily beans. What’s key as Jay explained to me is the palm nut oil, which provides so much oil and fragrance. It was delicious, and a perfect way to begin this Ghanaian street food tour in Accra!
Total price - 4 GHC ($0.90)

Nima Market - Next we caught a taxi to Nima Market, known for its spices. We tried everything we could find, which was quite a lot of snacks here and there. The market was fantastic to walk around, full of action and energy.
Coconut toffee
Tigernuts - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Masa - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Zowey (adaakwa) - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Kulikuli - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Boiled egg - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Fried cheese - 1 GHC ($0.20)
Burkina - 3 GHC ($0.70)
Bofrot - 1 GHC ($0.20)

Peace Chop Bar (Chop Bar - Local Ghanaian restaurant) - Finally, to end this street food tour of Ghana in Accra, we stopped back at the chop bar that we had visited earlier in the morning. Seeing the cooking was sensational, it only made me hungrier for lunch. By the time we arrived back, they had already sold out of a few dishes, but there was still plenty enough to choose from. I tried the banku with goat meat, and it was fantastic.
Total price - 36 GHC ($7.90)

This was an incredible day of eating street food in Accra. Many thanks to Jay!

According to the world wide web it has tremendous health benefits

Enjoy!!! Please don't pick fruit from trees in parks. They can be purchased from street vendors throughout Botswana. #travel #Botswana #5410Africa
