A Chilled out Christmas in Kiribati.
Episode 64
This week we explore the crystal clear blue waters on the western side of Abaing atoll in Kiribati. It makes for some amazing Darren-tastic drone shots....
There are uninhabited, coconut tree covered sand islands, a small eco resort and not much else!
After spending a very rolly night at anchor near one of the ocean passes, we seek a bit more shelter in front of Teirio Island Resort. This small eco resort has five local style bungalows, a communal dining area and a great outlook. Derek , the owner, makes us very welcome and introduces us to his only two guests ; Ken and Steve who are visiting from the
UK. We share the same warped sense of humour and get along famously.
We are even invited to join them on a snorkelling trip up to Manra island on the North western side of the atoll.
In the blink of an eye , Christmas Day rolls around. After a kayak session and walk on the beach , we celebrate with a bit of a cook-up. We enjoy a magnificent lentil loaf with all the trimmings, followed by a lovely pineapple upside down cake. With custard obviously ....

Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you.
In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve.
We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle.
So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles.
We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second.
We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You won't find any fishing footage on this channel!

Virgin Sands Beach of Pari Island
The first plan in Thousand Island, in this Pari Island is going for snorkeling, I thought i would be more than one spot and did some island hopping but unfortunately it wasn't like what I expect it. Just did one spot then going back to the island.
On the Island we went to visit the Pantai Pasir Perawan (Virgin Sand Beach), there it has the sallow water beach which perfect for family vacations and I got a chance to record Woody and Yolanda singing some songs there (will be in different vlog. lol).
In the afternoon we moved to the Star Beach to see the sunset but apparently that beach was the sunrise beach instead. lol
On evening we went back to the Pantai Pasir Perawan for the barbecue. and well the rest you can watch it in the video. lol.
