Flirting with Danger: How We Stay SAFE on Our Sailboat (Ep 60)

You can live this lifestyle too! BlueWater Cruising will show you how:
/

We arrive in France and end up having a BLAST cliff-jumping and cave exploring. We also round out this episode with a bit of off-color humor while explaining our thoughts on boat safety; I've dubbed in TV-14 so you may want to screen it first before watching with your kids. I apologize in advance if you find it offensive, but it was just so funny that I had to include it, for the sake of keeping it real, and hopefully, making you laugh! Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself, laugh at us!

Every day we wake up with the same question on our minds.  Will We Ever Get Home?  Our sailboat CURIOSITY is in Tonga, just a short one-hour flight from Fiji…so close and yet so far away.

Like many of you, Coronavirus has turned our world upside down and left us in a strange state of intermission.

How did we get here and when do we get out?

WHO ARE WE?
We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for almost a decade.
Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild adventures, and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
Because... Life is an adventure!
Extraordinary moments out there for anyone willing, and wanting, to go after it. Ya know life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

Shared with LOVE ????

A question in regards to entry into territorial waters as you travel the world... I know you recently had to get some sort of visa for Mexico, but did you need this before you entered their waters, or can you apply once there? Also how does this work for other countries? I know its a big world but just wondering in there was a set process.

Sailing for FIJI - Dodging Coral Hazards | Sailing Tranquilo Around the World | Ep. 102

We're sailing for Fiji! But before we reach these renowned islands of paradise in the South Pacific, we need to navigate low winds (and accept that patience is a virtue when sailing) as well as waters strewn with coral atolls that pose a hazard to unwary sailors!

Sailing Fun in FUNAFUTI with DOLPHINS! EP60

Fun in FUNAFUTI - Chillin’ with the DOLPHINS!
We settle into life in Funafuti, Tuvalu. After the rainy weather blows through, we up anchor and set off to explore the southern part of the lagoon. We drop anchor at Funafara Island and it's absolutely beautiful.
We kayak and paddle board and generally chill out, enjoying the peace and quiet of being the only boat in the village.
We even get to swim with a playful pod of spinner dolphins. Life doesn't get much better.

????‍❤️‍????About us :
Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you.
In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve.
We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle.
So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles.
We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second.
We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel!

Caribbean Sea Crossing & why we never arrived in Puerto Rico (The Sailing Family) Ep.61

- Our aim was to cross the Caribbean Sea to the DR and then sail in the landfall to Puerto Rico. But the wind and the current took us to another place. But we are really excited that we landed there - a nice place to be.

We hope by sharing this adventure you will find some inspiration in your life. If doesn’t have to be sailing. It can be anything at all. Just take a few minutes every day for yourself, breathe deep and relax, and don’t forget to SMILE big time!

TheSailingFamily.com is a documentary film project about a family who bought a sailboat and started sailing in July 2016. The second season has taken place in Panama and now The Endless Summer Sailing Trip takes place. Be a part of the adventure!

The ocean can be a scary place, and sailing into the unknown is always nerve wracking. In this episode we are forced to flee the beautiful country of Vanuatu when a cyclone forms unexpectedly. We sail as fast and far as we can to try and dodge bad weather and make it to our next amazing destination of the Solomon Islands.

He Du, da schau a mal her!

I bin da Gangerl!

Bali - Bonkers or Beautiful? – Sailing SE Asia Ep.62

We search for the quieter side of Bali. Escaping from the pushy hawkers out to scam the hordes of tourists, to find the quiet peace of the waterfalls and rice paddies in the north, or that was what we hoped anyway. With over 17000 islands in Indonesia it is impossible to visit them all, but it would be a shame to sail past such an iconic island without stopping to find out what all the fuss is about.

As we sailed north from Bali we had to navigate Florence through the hundreds of unlit fish traps that cover the sea just north of the island

We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat.

Napping on an AIRSTRIP in Funafuti, Tuvalu

Where's the best place to take a nap in Funafuti, Tuvalu? The airstrip of course! In this vlog I'll tell you why you want to sleep on the tarmac, what the nightlife is like, where to go for a beautiful swim, and other things to do in Funafuti, Tuvalu.

Tuvalu is an amazing Pacific Island with lots of rich cultural heritage, amazing people and a deep knowledge of the lagoon, the ocean and the island way of life. I was fortunate enough to visit for work, and what I've filmed here are some of the things I got up to on my weekend just looking around Funafuti.

If you're considering a visit to Tuvalu, there are some other good resources on the internet other than this video but the flights are from Suva 2-3 times a week (Saturday/Tuesday/Thursday) on Fiji Airways. You fly from Suva airport on a small plane. There's plenty of guest houses and one big hotel. Just get in touch in the comments if you want some opinions or information on where to stay or what to do.

Talofa Tuvalu! I miss you already!

The desert trip starts (The Sailing Family) Ep.58

- As we have finished our teak deck work now we will travel 2 weeks in Colombia. First we will start with a trip to the Colombian desert to go kitesurfing there.
Alina and Vita are living their adventures in the US and Australia - an update is inside.

We hope by sharing this adventure you will find some inspiration in your life. If doesn’t have to be sailing. It can be anything at all. Just take a few minutes every day for yourself, breathe deep and relax, and don’t forget to SMILE big time!

CUBA Tranquilo! - Tranquilo Sailing Around the World Ep. 66

Cuba! With Tranquilo out of action for now, and being in the neighbourhood, what's the obvious diversion? Head to Cuba! And while we've been to other communist countries, Cuba is a bit of a surprise. Yes the classic cars, the music (any Despasito fans?) and dancing, the bars Hemingway drank at, the daquiris, the Castro and Che Guevara iconography are all there - but there's an edge we haven't experienced before...

This week we continue our sail to the famous Yasawa islands, in the search of a peaceful anchorage and some much needed internet. Having just transited the Devil's Backbone on the north end of Eleuthera, we're dropped off near beautiful Harbour Island. We seize the day with a stop at Man Island before continuing to our anchorage.

We spend the next day touring the ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Dunmoretown, where all the rich people come to stay in Eleuthera. The marinas are full of mega yachts and the streets are full of colorful hotels, vistas, and restaurants. On the east side of the island is famous pink sand beach, due to crushed up coral. We find it to be the place to be on a Sunday afternoon, and chill there for a bit before a late lunch with the biggest conch sandwich I've ever seen!

We realize we have a weather window coming up in our favor to make the 950 jump from Eleuthera down to St. Martin, and get the boat in passage ready mode.

Cheers from the Bahamas!

Searching for an Underwater Plane Wreck in Fiji's Yasawa Islands; The Tale of a P-39 Airacobra crash

Episode #294 : Season 9 : The South Pacific

Hello Friends,

On this episode I depart Nanuya Lailai Island and make way for Naviti Island in search of a downed WWII fighter plane that lays sunken underwater in the Lagoon.

After finding good anchorage near a long sandy beach I headed a shore snorkel gear and a machete and set off the island on an over grown trail. I eventually found the site and swam out to have a look at the small plane.

you can find out more information about the plane and its pilot here:
