3 day Borneo River Cruise in Tanjung Puting National Park | Orangutan Adventure [4K]
We went on a 3 days and 2 nights boat expedition in Tanjung Puting National Park.
This National Park is famous for his wild Orangutan population. During this trip we where lucky enough to see multiple Orangutans and other beautifull wildlife.
We chose BeBorneo as our tour operator and are very happy with that choice.
After booking a shared group tour we ended up being the only 2 people on the boat. So we had a private tour for a group tour price. Can't beat that!

The best Borneo jungle tour to see orang-utans from sandakan Borneo. This area of Sabah in Borneo, Malaysia is famous for its critically endangered orangutans and many other species of animal. We went with Uncle Tans wildlife camp to get a real authentic jungle experience, back to basics. They provided an amazing 3 days tour from Sandakan which takes you to the heart of the Sabah jungle, if you’re lucky then you will spot some orang utans. You can also see some amazing Borneo wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys and long tailed macaque monkeys. Borneo Crocodiles are everywhere here as well so you have to be careful. You will see plenty of Borneo birds, Sabah insects and reptiles.

After our first stop in Yogyakarta ( we took the bus to Semarang to fly from there to Pangkalanbuun. The house boat tour started in Kumai and going on Sekonyer River into Tanjung Puting National Park.
We booked our 4D3N tour with Andreas from He picked us up from the hotel but was obviously sick so he had organised Husni as our guide who did also a great job. We paid in July in peak season for the private tour for 2 person about IDR 9.2m. We loved this tour and were happy that we made the booking in advance because all boats got fully booked. You can decide on how many days you want to spend on the boat.

20 orangutans who were orphaned or rescued from captivity live in the Semenggoh Nature Reserve.
We had the most incredible experience witnessing orangutangs in their native habitat for the first time, owing to this incredible wildlife reserve. During the tour, there were so many amusing situations that it made us believe that we, humans, did indeed originate from Apes. They appeared to be exactly like us. But, hold on a minute, do they enjoy chocolate? That's something we'll never know firsthand, haha.

After not traveling for a while, this time we will go on an adventure to the forest to see orangutans in their habitat without cages and also other animals, I even met snakes ????on my trip in the forest. Before leaving for Tanjung Puting National Park, I landed in Sampit City, East Kotawaringin Regency, because there were some work to be done. The distance from Sampit City is almost 8 hours so it is very tiring.
On this trip I used a plane from the airline NAM Air, because only NAM AIR serves routes to the city of Sampit and the city of Pangkalan Bun, the distance from Jakarta is about 1 hour because there is only 1 flight from Jakarta, so don't miss the plane. NAM Air flights are at terminal 1A Soekarno Hatta airport, here there is also a playground and also a Playstation so you will not feel bored while waiting for the plane to depart.
To go to Tanjung Puting National Park we use a boat with a distance of approximately 1 hour and a half and along the way are served with beautiful views like in the amazon forest, the scenery here is also very impressive with the original habitat of Kalimantan animals such as crocodiles, snakes, proboscis monkeys and many other wild animals.

Welcome to the Land Below the Wind, Sabah!
This video is produced based on our nine-day trip to the east coast of Sabah, visiting Sandakan, Lower Kinabatangan River, and Tabin.
This is where Orangutans swing branch to branch, where the Sulu Sea and the South China Sea meet, pygmy elephants roam in herds, and where a land of myriad people celebrate their cultural heritage.
During our trip, we saw more animals and birds than we wanted - pygmy elephant, proboscis monkey, sun bear, and orangutan. We also tried the unique Sandakan food and had the freshest seafood.

We didn't know what to expect from Malaysian Borneo, but for sure we didn't know it would be like this! Kota Kinabalu was a surprise. It's hard to explain this place, but you'll see exactly what we mean after watching the video.

★ MORE INFO ABOUT THE FOUR-ISLAND TOUR:
1. What we did: we went to the Sutera Marina and basically talked to the only operator in the marina. They have all the tours and prices displayed, and even though it was slightly more expensive than other options, it was pretty painless and we had a great experience! We recommend this option :)
2. Another option (this was plan B for us): Go to Jesselton Point Jetty and try to negotiate a price. It will be cheaper than what we paid ($15 p/p), but there will be A LOT of different operators to choose from. This info was shared to us by a local and also from the guy at the beginning of the video.
In the end, we decided it was ok to pay a higher price because we were already there and it was the right choice for us :) but there are other options.

Kinabatangan river cruise - The best trip in Borneo (amazing experience) (EP7 Sabah)
Hi, guys. This is a continuation of our last episode, in which we showed you Bilit Adventure Lodge, where we stayed at the lower Kinabatangan river.
This video will focus on what we have seen during our Kinabatangan river cruise and the birds, insects, and animals we spotted during our jungle trekking. Let's go.
Kinabatangan is Sabah's longest river. This area has the highest concentration of wildlife in Borneo. The river cruise is the best way to observe the animals along the riverside.
During our stay at Bilit Adventure Lodge, we joined two mornings and two late evening cruises.
That is because different animals will come out at other times of the day, according to our guide.
Let me show you what we have seen in this video.

Bornean Orangutans are endangered but one place where you have a good chance to spot them is on a Kinabatangan River Cruise Experience. We were so lucky and saw Orangutans in the wild, we did not expect this at all. A wild orangutan is getting harder to spot, so to see one building its nest for the night was a jawdropping experience.
The Kinabatangan River cruise experience also included a jungle trek where we managed to get out with all the wildlife around us and experience the rainforest to it's fullest. Malaysia continues to please, fascinate and surprise as we travel through this brilliant country.

This time we decided to explore the world’s third largest island... Borneo! Intrigued by its ancient equatorial rainforests, spectacular jungle wildlife, rich indigenous culture and culinary melting pot, we were looking for something wild - Borneo sure did not disappoint!
Come on an adventure with us as we explore Sabah, the Malaysian part of Borneo. We discover untouched primary rainforests, where you feel like you are in the Jurassic lost world; catch a glimpse in the dense canopy of wildlife such as the endangered orangutang and the cartoon-like proboscis monkey; learn about the heritage and old traditions of the Murut and the Kadazandusun tribes and admire the wide range of delicious cuisine of this magnificent island.
In this episode, we set foot in one of the most spectacular jungles surrounding Sabah's longest river: The Kinabatangan!
Our first night, we experience Osman's homestay. This well-known and not really politically-correct character has worked with the BBC and been on filming expeditions with David Attenborough. Osman was nicknamed the fixer as he can locate the rarest and hardest to find animals.
As we continued to explore the Kinabatangan, we venture up stream for the wildest and most unique experience; camping on Native Land in the remote wetlands of the lower Kinabatangan Valley. Uncle Tans is right in the midst the tropical rainforest, between the forest reserve and wildlife sanctuary. Highly recommended for all adventures lovers! The staff are amazing and super knowledgeable! Worth to mention, the EAC (Economic Action Council) recognised Uncle Tan's contribution for the environment conservation of Sabah.
We set out along the muddy brown ribbon that is The Kinabatangan, to spot some of the most iconic animals of Borneo. The highlight? The hilarious and cartoon like endemic proboscis monkeys!
