Starting from the Bari Imam, take the left road right besides the shrine wall and head towards 'Loh-e-Dandi' Car Parking.
Just before the car parking there is a cemented road on the left heading towards the hilly area. (33.756871, 73.113496)

Shumber Waterfall - The Hidden Gem of Margalla Hills || Islamabad
Shumber waterfall, Shahdara Village is near Bara Kahu, Islamabad. It’s a 45 minutes’ drive from Rawalpindi. To reach the actual water fall, water slide and green pond, you’d have to hike half an hour on a generally straight track. Even women and children can reach the site.
The waterfall makes an excellent day trip for the visitors who are often thrilled by the cascade of water that tumbles over the rocks surrounded by green vegetative cover and home to scores of monkeys.
I had no idea there still is a peace of green heaven remaining in Islamabad — but there is. It is a light green pond of crystal clear water that collects from Margalla hills. People have still not reached there to smirch the natural beauty and wild life.
We trekked to Shumber waterfall pond, walking straight up the near-dry stream. Boulders were a little tricky but as they were dry in the spring months, there was enough foot grip over them. The deeper we went into the ravine, the more greener and peaceful it became. One turn later we saw the water fall that originates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The water fall starts flowing in the summer months, when the snow melts on the top.
Unauthorized contractors appear time and again and they charge Rs. 50 to 100 for a motor bike and Rs. 200 to 300 for a motor car as a parking fee.
The Einstein's in CDA are planning to build a concrete canal with embankments for tourists at this site. Will someone tell them the beauty of Shumber water fall & Shahdara stream is its natural beauty?
I wish our people would let Mother Nature be.

Bruti is a series of waterfalls and blue ponds that lead up to the top of the Margalla mountains where the tallest of waterfalls is located.
This is my Hike to the highest of the Bruti Waterfalls on Margalla Hills in Islamabad.
There is an ancient Aqueduct there that no one talks about.
I drove to Bari Imam Shrine, turned towards Loh-e-Dandi Chilla Gah road and parked my car at the last stop before the trek starts.
The local there said autumn is when the water slows down and become clearer.
Speaking of lions, the locals told me that there are mountain cats and deer on these cliffs.
The return journey from Bruti Waterfall Islamabad is a lot easier, as I knew which wide track to use.
It took me 1.5 hours to get to the top and 45 minutes to get down to the parking area.
The 12 small ponds before the largest Bruti Waterfall Islamabad are called Pyala Lake. It’s not really a lake but a series of ponds before the bigger one.

The Margalla Hills is a hill range which is part of the Himalayan foothills located within the Margalla Hills National Park, north of Islamabad, Pakistan. The hills are a part of Murree hills. It is a range with many valleys as well as high mountains.
Margalla Hills are famous for the very scenic beauty and awesome picnic spots like daman e koh, monal , pir sohawa etc. CDA has developed the west part of the park by building parks (daman e koh), Zoo and trails , Trail 5 3 and 6 etc providing people a great place to picnic.
Bruti is located near Bari imam which is in the east corner of Islamabad behind the Prime minister house and diplomatic enclave.

Come along on what was no doubt one of my BEST days in Pakistan ever - an epic bike trip to the unreal Noori Waterfall in Haripur, KPK.
For people that know how to swim, this place is an absolute paradise and seriously looked like something in Oman or Thailand, but is actually located right here in Haripur, KPK.
Be immersed into the motorbike trip with us as we first rent a bike, then make the nearly 3-hour journey through the stunning Margalla Hills to reach this gift of nature at Tial Village.
We'll then swim and enjoy in an epic private area, in crystal clear, clean water with no trash in sight!

Waterfall Trail 5 | Spring Water Trail 5 | Margallah Hills | Islamabad
Hiking Trail 5 Islamabad is on the second list in Top Hiking Trails in Islamabad because of its diversity. The Trail 5 is not tough as compared to others but it is a long trek and hikers find it more adventurous. Some of the enthusiastic soul tend to hike all trails which “Trail 3”, “Trail 4” and “Trail 5”. Because these three are adjacent to each other. Moreover, “Trail 5” and “Trail 3” are parallel to each other.
Additionally, Hiking Trail 5 Direction starts at the opposite of sector F5 and ends at Pir Sohawa. As mentioned above the trail 5 is parallel to trail 3, so you can start from there as well. The trails start at the elevation of 620m and end at 1129m, covering a distance of 5.08km with total climbing of 534m. At first few kilometres, the trail is quite smooth and after that, you will encounter a freshwater stream along with a beautiful sitting area. The treks end at the stunning place of the hill which is called Pir Sohawa from where you can witness the whole Islamabad.
