The skies were blue, and hardly a cloud could be seen, so I went to the beach for another attempt to record a sunset. As always, there did turn out to be some clouds over the horizon, but things still looked really pretty. A little later, a helicopter also paid a visit.

The Seal Beach Pier in California is a great relaxing place to visit. The small town feel of the city combined with beach atmosphere lead to a nice low key experience that you don't find in all beach communities. On a windy day in August of 2018 we visited the beach and Pier area just as the sun began to set. The wind kicked up and almost knocked the camera over a few times. VR180 video of the sunset. This was shot using twin Zcam E1 cameras synced together with iZugar dongles. The timelapse mode works nice on this camera because the timer starts after the file has been saved. So, a 3 second interval will be short in daylight, but as the light falls off, the camera will go to a long exposure up to 8 seconds, and still just put 3 seconds delay after that long exposure. So, you can do time lapse shots from day right into night. The speed that time passes will vary, but at least the exposure can stay consistent.
The lenses were Meike 6.5mm Circular fisheye. The corrections of that lens on a m43 body will produce a hole in the top and bottom, but that hole is about as big as the tripod legs anyways, so its really no loss. The resolution you can get is far better than any other vr180 camera out there. I have an Insta360 evo and its about a quarter the resolution. This shot had the camera tilted back considerably to bring more of the sky in. The rig overall works well and is flexible in that you can use whatever m43 lenses you want for 3d. You dont have to be shooting VR180, you can put 2 normal lenses on there and shoot normal 3d videos.

No matter how many times I watch the sunset, it never ever gets old. A sunset on the ocean is an amazing site. Experiencing a sunset from the shores of Disney's Aulani Resort & Spa is epic. While Disney's Imagineers aren't responsible for the sunset, they are responsible for the setup of this incredible scene, repeated daily for Resort guests. For me, a moment like this is as much a Disney moment as sitting on the shores of Bay Lake, watching World of Color show in Disney California Adventure, or strolling through a near-empty Morocco Pavilion after closing in Epcot's World Showcase.
