Castries by Trolley Train & Beach | St Lucia | P&O Cruises Excursion | February 2023

We enjoy a trolley train excursion & this was no exception! This one took a short tour around Castries and then we had an hour to spend at the beach. The traffic was quite busy the day of our excursion so we ended up with almost 2 hours at the beach!

Our itinerary - Tortola BVI, St. John's Antigua, Bridgetown Barbados, Castries St. Lucia, Philipsburg St. Maarten, Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas & then back to San Juan! Phew!!
What a journey!!

In this double episode, we are super excited as we wake up to the most amazing views from our balcony as we near Bridgetown, Barbados. We have no plans to head out, but instead enjoy the wonderful infinity pools, sip frozen drinks under the Caribbean sun & hit up Indulge food hall for a spot of Curry! The Evening is spent firstly back at Onda by Scarpetta for my birthday meal & then onto the theatre for some giggles watching Press you luck! Retro 90s disco ends this Chilled day in the Club.
The next day we dock in the incredibly beautiful Island of St. Lucia. Today we do have plans...we are all set to go to Bay Garden's Resort for the day. An all inclusive excursion to a beautiful resort some 30mins from the port. Unfortunately the weather is not behaving, We disembark into heavy rains and stormy skies!! But thankfully on the other side of the island the sun is shining & the storms have passed!

Dinner was at the wonderful Food Republic & the evening entertainment was put on by the Syd Norman's band in the Viva club! A wonderful opportunity to see them perform as a band outside of the small Syd Norman's venue. It's PROM night & we have a blast!!

Walking in St. John's, Antigua - What to do on Your Day in Port

This is a quick video of our walk through the port of St. John's, Antigua. We were on a 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas. Antigua is a beautiful island. In this video we walk up to St. John's Cathedral also known as the St. John the Divine, the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba. It is an Anglican church perched on a hilltop in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. The present cathedral with its imposing white twin towers was built on a fossilized reef, in 1845, and is now in its third incarnation, as earthquakes in 1683 and in 1745 destroyed the previous structures. The iron gates on the south face of the church are flanked by pillars displaying lead Biblical figures of St John the Divine and St John the Baptist. They were taken by HMS Temple in 1756, from a French ship destined for Martinique.

Antigua is one of the 2 major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Ringed with coral reefs, the island is known for its many sandy beaches. Set along English Harbour, restored Nelson’s Dockyard, which Admiral Horatio Nelson made his base in the 1780s, includes a marina and the Dockyard Museum. Trails lead up to Shirley Heights, a former military lookout with panoramic views.

As part of our Crown Princess Southern Caribbean Cruise, we visited the beautiful island of St.Lucia. A big thanks to Real St. Lucia Tours for sponsoring our tour and hosting us!

During this video, you'll see some of the incredible places we visited in St. Lucia while we were in port for the day. We began our tour from the St. Lucia cruise terminal where we met our tour guide, Isaac. We boarded the air conditioned van made our way through the town of Castries and saw the gorgeous landscape, and stopped for a photo stop.

Some of the sights we saw included L'Anse La Raye fishing village, the Edmond Rainforest, Tete Paul Nature Trail, the Banana Plantation, the Suplhuric Springs and Mud Baths, the town of Soufriere, and the Touraille Waterfalls.

We learned a lot about life in St. Lucia during our tour, including information about the 2 Pitons, the national flower, Hibiscus, and National Plant, the giant fern.

We ended our tour with a delicious lunch at the Beacon Restaurant, where the view was just amazing!
