Makassar, formerly known as Ujung Pandang, a city, capital of South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. It lies along the southwestern side of the southwestern peninsula of Celebes. The Makassarese, who account for the majority of the population, constitute a branch of the Malay people and are closely related to the Bugis. Already a flourishing port when the Portuguese arrived in the 16th century, Makassar subsequently came under the control of the Dutch, who built a trading station in 1607 and finally deposed the sultan in 1669. It was briefly (1946–49) the capital of the Dutch-sponsored state of East Indonesia.
Principal exports from Makassar include cocoa, coffee, palm oil, cashews, timber and other forest products, as well as products of the region’s fisheries. The port is also a distribution centre for other parts of Celebes, the Moluccas, and the Lesser Sunda Islands. Makassar has a well-developed road network linking the city to the hinterland. Its airport serves primarily as a domestic gateway to eastern Indonesia but also offers some direct international flights, most notably to and from Peninsular Malaysia.

Cebu City, located on Cebu Island’s eastern coast. It is one of the country’s largest cities and is a bustling port. Its harbour is provided by the sheltered strait between Mactan Island and the coast. The country’s oldest settlement, it is also one of its most historic and retains much of the flavour of its long Spanish heritage. A thriving port occupied the site when Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese navigator and explorer, landed. Miguel López de Legazpi and the friar Andrés de Urdaneta arrived on Cebu and founded the first Spanish settlement and Catholic mission in the Philippines archipelago. For six years, until Legazpi’s removal to Manila, Cebu was the Spanish colonial capital. It remained the primary Spanish bastion in the southern part of the Philippines.
Cebu City is the main collection centre for such interisland commodities as copra, abaca, sugar, timber, and fish. Cebu is a major point of passenger traffic by air and sea and is served by an international airport across the harbour on Mactan Island.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

November 21, 2019 - my Mom & I flew to Bohol for a 5-day vacation.
My brother drove us to Clark International Airport and had breakfast before boarding the plane.
I took some aerials shots of the beautiful islands of Philippines. The beautiful skies & cloud formations from the plane are also a sight to behold.
Upon arriving at Panglao International Airport, our driver who will take us to our hotel was already waiting outside. I booked the airport pickup via Klook. It was very convenient.
