Walking Around Chișinău , Republic of Moldova #Chișinău #Moldova #travel
I made this video of us walking around Chișinău, Moldova. We visited the pedestrian only Eugene Doga Street, the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral and Bell Tower park, the Triumphal Arch, Stephen the Great Central Park and the Chișinău Circus. This is not an extensive look into the city; there is more to be seen, of course. This is just what our experience was like.
Here is a link to the circus. I'm not saying it will blow your mind but I am saying it was a nice and inexpensive way to spend the afternoon.
Americans First Time in Chisinau, Moldova
I found a flight from Athens to Chisinau for only 30 Euros, so why not check it out, I'm working my way through all of the European countries, just about 12 or so more to go.
Unfortunately I arrived around 1am, got a taxi to my really bad cheap hotel, nothing to drink or no where to buy anything so I was really dehydrated by the morning. I walked around until I found a grocery store and downed a bottle of water, and got another one to drink slowly.
I walked around the town a bit, then met up with a local on Couchsurfing, Gloria. She's actually a tour guide but took time after her work day to show me a little bit of her town which was very nice of her. We walked around town, she told me some facts about the buildings and we went to a traditional restaurant where they did some dancing and gave me some cake to try.
It was a very quick 2 nights in Chisinau but then it was time to take a Blah Blah Car to Odessa, Ukraine.

Chișinău, capital of Moldova is a real gem of a city, which not many tourists seem to visit. Moldova is one of the least visited countries in Europe and although the lack of development can be seen while exploring Chișinău it also has a richness in wonderful and varied architecture, interesting history a great central market and very friendly local people! People from Moldova are really lovely people!
While here, we enjoyed exploring the centre of the city, taking in the main sights of the Church of the Nativity, The Triumphal Arch, some interesting Monuments and we even ventured further out to see the Chişinău State Circus building which really as a sight! We highly recommend Moldova for people who are looking for something different!
If you like unusual travel destinations, this is definitely Off the Beaten track

I spent a day walking around Chisinau on foot. The city is full of Soviet styled buildings with some in need of maintenance.
I also visited the Central Market where a wide variety of goods can be bought.
Chisinau is not as boring as it seems. There are many things to do for a few days.
