Auschwitz concentration camp is a place where the bleak reality of WWII conditions suffered by its inmates has not lost its intensity, sending shivers down the spine of its visitors and remaining reflection-provoking for years to come. Auschwitz-Birkenau was the primary site of the Nazi's final solution to the Jewish problem. It is estimated that 1.3 million people were sent to Auschwitz and of these, 1.1 million died. Most people deported to Auschwitz were sent immediately to the gas chambers. Those who did not die in the gas chambers died of other causes, including starvation, infection, medical experimentation, and forced labor.
Auschwitz isn’t somewhere you ‘want’ to visit, but it’s certainly somewhere that you should visit - a place you'll never forget.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Auschwitz, Poland - The king of all DEATH CAMPS (and how to get there from Krakow)
In this episode, Toby and Israel go to the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp (as well as Auschwitz-Birkenau or Auschwitz 2). Traveling from their base in beautiful Krakow, Poland, they not only explain how to get there and the basic logistics you will need to know, but they give you a tour of what you will see and talk about the impact that it had on them and what it might mean in the current political climate. Many countries around the world are struggling with discrimination of some kind against minorities. Sadly, here in Poland, the current government has labeled many parts of the country LGBT-free zones where gay people are said to not exist and are not welcome. Ironically, this concentration camp, which exemplifies the furthest extreme of hatred of a minority group, is located in such a zone. Visiting Auschwitz does and should have broad implications on how we see the world. It's not only a lesson from the past, but contains deep insights that can be applied directly to the times we are currently living in, no matter where we are from. No country is immune from othering, which is when certain groups of people are shut out from certain aspects of civil society and are treated as lesser humans. Take this tour with us, form your own opinions, and we highly encourage you to one day, visit Auschwitz on your own. Aleksander Solzhenitsyn — 'The line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being.' Auschwitz is not just the story of European Jews, of Poland, of German aggression and racism, although it is definitely that, but it is the story of humans, and what we do to other humans when we are not careful of our thoughts, which become actions, which become habits, which become policies. We dedicate this video to all of the people who suffered here in Auschwitz and we would like to thank the museum for keeping the memory alive as it is the story of us.

American Visits Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland
A few weeks ago I visited Auschwitz concentration camp right outside of Krakow, Poland, which was the largest camp built by Nazi Germany during World War 2. Auschwitz is located in a town called Oswiecim, Poland. We decided to make a day trip to the camp during our time in Krakow. The experience as a whole was life-changing and I learned so much about what happened in the camp that I didn't know before. Bearing Witness to History: My Experience at Auschwitz ????????
I have felt compelled to visit Auschwitz, to pay my respects to those who lost their lives there, since I was a child and learned about these horrors in school. I was was not prepared for how the profoundly upsetting experience affects you. It has changed me forever, I am sure. I decided to make this short film to try to portray to others the vitally important harrowing lesson from recent history that this place should teach us. We should not stay silent on this matter, ever. We should carry forward the memory of the horror these poor millions of innocent people suffered in their honour, and to remind us we should always choose love above hate.
Auschwitz-Birkenau is the largest extermination and concentration camp built by the Nazis during World War 2. It is remarkably still mostly intact. Entrance to the memorial-museum is free, although daily entrance can be limited and guided tours to cost a fee. The camp is located near the Polish town of Oswiecim.

This was without doubt the hardest vlog we have ever made. Although visiting Auschwitz was very interesting, you can not escape the horror that took place here. They say its a place that everyone should visit in their lifetime and in a weird way we were glad we did.

We spent the day at the Birkenau Extermination Camp (Auschwitz 2), and the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. After some debate, we decided to vlog our experience. We spent the day with our friend Farell Salvador, who has a youtube channel of the same name, and his friend Dinesh, who has been studying in Poland for the past 3 years. We didn't pay for a guided tour, but effectively, Dinesh was our tour guide.
This was a tough vlog to make. Tough to shoot, tough to narrate, tough to edit, and altogether a very tough day. We learned about some very disturbing and often overwhelming history. We did our best to hide the more startling and disturbing details (and especially photos), although I'm sure some of it will leak through.
We can definitely recommend checking out Birkenau (Auschwitz 2) before Auschwitz. Birkenau is an open area where you can explore at your own pace. Comparatively, it is less shocking and depressing than Auschwitz, although it is certainly still very sad. Experiencing Birkenau can try and help to get you, at least slightly, prepared for the sights and facts of Auschwitz. That being said, there is probably nothing that can really prepare you for Auschwitz.
They won't let you bring any backpacks in Auschwitz. We arrived at 3:30pm for our 4:00pm time slot, to see a massive line. We got to the front of the line around 4:30pm, and found we couldn't bring our backpack. So in the end, we entered around 5:00 pm. Just a heads up -- check your bag before lining up.
Our experience in Auschwitz was memorable -- albeit in a very troubling way. We certainly don't regret going, and recommend you to travel here. You can do your best to try and mentally prepare yourself, but there will be information and photos you learn/see that will shock you. It's hard to express the tremendous sorrow and almost embarrassment you feel learning how these people were treated. It's a lot to take, and altogether hard to absorb.
Thanks for watching our video. We did our best to try and convey some of the lesser extreme details, as well as capture some shots and our raw emotions in a respectful and delicate way. Thank goodness there is nothing comparable happening anymore.

Visiting Auschwitz || Walking Through Auschwitz-Birkenau
In today's vlog we're visiting Auschwitz concentration camp, which was by far the saddest place we've ever been. Auschwitz was used as a work camp by the Nazi's in the early 1940s initially to house prisoners of war, but later spiraled into a camp devoted to the mass extermination of humans, most of them being Jewish. Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau is something that we highly encourage anyone to do, as it shows the worst of what humanity can be & why we can never forget about it in an effort to never repeat it. We hope this is informative & inspires you to pay Auschwitz a visit if you're ever in southern Poland.
