Traveling to the Hidden Gem of the Philippines | Our New Favorite Island?! ????????
Today we are taking a boat ride to what we think is the Philippines' Hidden gem! It's a relatively overlooked island in the Philippines and completely underrated! We also are renting a beach house in Camiguin Philippines, the island that we are going to today!
We start the day in Cagayan De Oro and get in a transport van for a long chaotic ride across Mindanao to the ferry port to go to Camiguin.
We ride the 90 minute Camiguin ferry and then have to take a tuk tuk another hour to the other side of the island where we are renting a nice beach house on AirBnb for only about $30.
We get some food and find out quickly that this island is very very empty. No tourists to be found in one of the most beautiful places we've ever been! That's a very good thing for us!

Living in a hidden Palawan houseboat on Coron Island, Philippines
A lot of people considering a trip to the Philippines wonder what it’s like to wake up in a floating, off-grid, over the water, eco-hut in a private lagoon off Coron island. Well, it's incredible.
These houseboats are the only accommodations and restaurant in Coron Island. The island is a National Reserve, Marine Reserve, Unesco Biosphere Reserve and the Ancestral Land of the Tagbanua Tribe.
Paolyn Houseboats employs over 124 people, including many members of the Tagbanua Tribe.
But no trip to the Philippines would be legit without visiting Coron island. This uninhabited jewel is popular for eco-tourism, world-class diving, and seeing WW2 shipwrecks. It’s also a favorite spot among Filipinos themselves, so you know it’s good.
While there, we took a full-day, guided tour with 2 members of the island’s ancestral tribe, the tagbanua, so if you’re planning a visit yourself, this is the episode for you. Let’s jump in.

After a two-month hiatus we're back and continuing on with our adventures, bringing you ti the best vacation spots in the Philippines. Since we left off going around Bicolandia we decided to pick up from where we left off and continue our exploration of this nature-rich region south of Luzon.

In this video we take you to a customized private tour which includes the most popular attractions from standard Tour A and some hidden gems as well. You'll be able to see incredible images from above, from the ground and from underwater. The tour is being hosted by our friend, Christopher Lozada:
Kayangan Lake is a crystal-clear freshwater lake in Coron, featuring underwater rock formations, caves and islets. It's a popular spot for photographers, for fairly obvious reasons, and is said to be the cleanest lake in all of the Philippines.
At Coron's Green Lagoon, you can swim and snorkel to see the vibrant corals. There is a floating nipa hut with tables that you may stop at. Fresh fish and vegetables from the local wet market will be used by the boat crew to prepare a delicious meal for you. Also, it's an excellent place to go kayak.
Hidden (or Secret) Beach - this is more a lagoon with turquoise water, surrounded by huge limestone formations. The specific of this place is the incredible blue shades of the water and the overall peace and serenity that the lagoon offers. You can swim, snorkel or kayak in the lagoon and hop on one of the 2-3 small beaches surrounding the lagoon. You can find this marvelous place hidden somewhere between Banol Beach and Atwayan Beach.
Atwayan Beach - Named after the many “tuway” or “clam,” Atwayan is a close runner up to the illustrious Banol Beach. With plenty of the same paradise-like attributes, this hot spot is less crowded.
