Friday night on 19.03.2021 a vulcano erupted in Iceland in Fagradalsfjall mountains area. Sunday morning I took a 3 hour difficult hike to see this once in a lifetime wonder of the earth. Epic video from the edge of the lava lake inside Marum volcano on Ambrym Island, Vanuatu. Yes, that is me in the video! I was able to get as close as humanly possible to the violently boiling lava while wearing a protective heat suit. Without it, the heat was totally unbearable within seconds.

Going Down Inside Africa's Most Dangerous Volcano
Explorer & Adventurer, George Kourounis, descends down inside Nyiragongo volcano in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in the Virunga National Park, near the border with Rwanda in 2016. It is commonly considered to be the most dangerous volcano in all of Africa.
George descends 500 meters to the very bottom of the volcano and walks right up to the violently boiling lake of lava, the largest in the world (200 meters wide). The volcano has a history of causing lava flows that have spilled down the flanks of the volcano, into the nearby city of Goma, threatening hundreds of thousands of lives. This happened in 1977 and again in 2002.

Cerro Negro (Nicaragua) is an active volcano.
It last erupted in 1999.
It is 728 meters (2388 ft) high with slopes as steep as 41 degrees.
Volcano boarding down Cerro Negro was invented by Darryn Webb in 2005.
Cerro Negro volcano boarding speeds can be as fast as 57 mph (93kph).

While filming inside the Marum volcano on Ambrym in Vanuatu, a large projection of lava bursts out of the lava lake and crashes over cameraman Bradley (Ambrose) White. Filmed on a Canon 5dm2 and GoPro Hero 3+.
I've measured the temperature of the lapilli (lava ejections) previously between 600-800 degrees Celsius.
I was extremely lucky to not have been hit by a lava bomb.

Cameraman Bradley Ambrose has a close call with falling lava projected from the Marum lava lake on Ambrym Island as he films within metres of the edge.
The splatter lands around him, hitting his camera gear and himself. Lava bombs and lapilli have been measured between 600-800 degrees celsius at this volcano.
To get this close to the lava lake involves a 300-400m rappel inside the crater.
