This is Vladivostok... get ready! | Life in the capital of Russia's Far East
Welcome to the Far East. It's the least populated region of Russia – only about 5% of the population lives here. Vladivostok is the capital of Primorsky Krai and it’s the second-largest city in the Russian Far East with a population of about 600,871. The city is famous for its harbor location as the home port of the Russian Pacific Fleet and being the final stop on the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The Reality of Life in Russia 2023 (bureaucratic nightmare)
This is our life in Russia in late 2022 / 2023. Traveling to Russia as a westerner has always been difficult, a bureaucratic nightmare, but this year is the first time Matt and I have really had any issues. We arrived in my hometown of Kemerovo, Siberia, after crossing in to Russia at Kaliningrad and flying to Novosibirsk. Once here and staying with my family, we went to register with the local authorities, but everything turned out to be a little complicated to say the least. This is a week in our lives here staying in Siberia as we hang out with my family and prepare for New years eve (the biggest celebration of the year in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and many other former Soviet countries). Welcome to a very cold, wintery Siberia.

Discover the Hidden Gems of Vladivostok, Russia's Vibrant City in the Far East
We often forget that Russia stretches really far east. There is plenty of land way out there that borders China and North Korea, and it is about darn time that we filmed a video about the easternmost part of Eurasia!
Vladivostok looks really different from the rest of the country - and a lot newer. There doesn't seem to be much Soviet stuff here - it looks more like San Francisco than Moscow. There are plenty of bridges uniting the city. The weather is very warm and sunny. And there are tons of seafood to be had all around the city at quality levels vastly superior to Moscow. All in all, Vladivostok is the kind of Russian experience you’d never expect!

The city Vladivostok has a very interesting history. 100 years ago Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans and representatives of other nationalities lived in the city. All cultures are mixed in Vladivostok, and the city has its own special charm.
Many old houses in Vladivostok are monuments of architecture. People of the 21st century cannot live in the conditions of the 19th century, so they disfigure their houses with additions.

#Владивосток — удивительный город. Его называют российской Ниццей и Сан-Франциско. Здесь один из самых крупных портов на Дальнем Востоке и база Тихоокеанского флота.
Столицу и Владивосток разделяют 9288 километров. Оказывается, даже Австралия ближе к Владивостоку, чем Москва. Тем интереснее мне было наконец добраться до конечной точки Транссибирской магистрали.
И город меня покорил! Красивейшие сопки, мосты и набережные. Величественные корабли и памятники. Кроме того, оказалось, что лучшие дрифтеры живут именно здесь. Забегая вперед, скажу, что я лично узнала, что такое крутой вираж.
Отдельный восторг вызвал остров Русский, где мне удалось не просто насладиться уникальной природой и достичь крайней точки нашей страны, но и побывать на очень необычной ферме. Что я там увидела – узнаете, посмотрев ролик.
