About us:
In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists – but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.

After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew – and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.

The Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Square

The Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Square

On our 2nd day in Rome, the 1st official itinerary day on our tour, we visited the Vatican Museum in Vatican City!

The crowds in this area are absolutely incredible, the Vatican museum is visited by over 6 million people every year! It is highly advised that tickets to the museum are purchased in advance otherwise you will be waiting in a very long line! If you google Vatican Museum tickets, many websites will come up before the official Vatican site.- so just be aware you may be purchase tickets for some sort of guided tour, you can tour the Vatican on your own without a guide. Tickets can be purchased here from the official Vatican website:

Also, a free audio tour guide is available at Ricksteves.com (My favorite Europe travel guide) - You can download the audio tour and listen while you walk through.

Inside The Vatican City & St Peter's Basilica

For our final day in Italy, we visited the world's smallest country - The Vatican. We wandered through the incredible Vatican museums and eventually Saint Peter's Basilica too however talking, photos and videos are not allowed inside the Sistine Chapel which is the only part we couldn't share in this vlog.

⛪ VATICAN MUSEUMS
We purchased skip-the-line entry tickets and a guided tour of the Vatican museums and St Peter's Basilica but before going to St Peter's Basilica (after viewing the Sistine Chapel) we broke off from our tour group and went to hunt down Raphael's Rooms instead. We highly recommend visiting Raphael's Rooms BEFORE going into the Sistine Chapel otherwise it can be a mission to return to them.

15 GREAT Tips to Visit Vatican Museum & St. Peters Cathedral Without Going CRAZY!

15 GREAT Tips to Visit Vatican Museum & St. Peters Cathedral Without Going CRAZY!

If you don't plan carefully, your trip to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral will be a miserable experience. Averaging more than 20,000 visitors each day, the Vatican Museum is often packed to the walls with tourists, making it almost impossible to see the exhibits and artwork without being dragged through the halls in a mass of bodies.

In this video I give you 15 power tips on the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral. When to go, how to get there, how to avoid problems entering the museum . . . and my #1 tip is exactly the opposite of what I normally offer for visiting a tourist site. But this tip makes all the difference with seeing the Vatican Museum in particular.

I have released a separate video that provides a visual tour of the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral. No narration, just the sights of Vatican City to show you why this is one place in Rome that you MUST visit.

That video is Unveiling the Treasures of the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica (4K)

Vatican City. Very Helpful, Very Unhelpful Travel Guide

This travel guide episode covers the capital city of the Vatican City - which is erm…. Vatican City. Visit the world biggest church - Saint Peter’s Basilica - wonder at its mammoth size and trip up the dome if you don’t collapse from exhaustion along the way. Then visit the Vatican museums to barge through endless queues of tourists to see many artworks no one really cares about unless it has ‘Raphael’ or ‘Michelangelo’ in its description. Finish off at the Sistine Chapel to see walls covered in the finest Renaissance artworks by world famous artists… overlooked by everyone focusing on ceiling. And why not top of a trip to the Vatican City with a day trip to Rome (like you have a choice), delight in art, art, terrible road safety regulations and more art. This honest review travel guide to The Vatican City you’ll find very helpful but probably mostly unhelpful…. Ah make your own mind up!
