Visited Sfax in one day

Visited the city of Sfax is to discover Haussmann buildings that date back to French independence. The city is full of some magnificent Andalusian style building in the city center. Have also visited a little the medina, Dar jalouli, the big mosque. Not to mention to visit this magnificent synagogue located just 300 meters from the medina of Sfax. Counted a short day in Sfax and the next day visit Kerkennah island in front of Sfax.

Why is Sfax TUNISIA'S GREATEST CITY!? ????????

Sfax صفاقس‎ - The second city of Tunisia, after the capital Tunis.

It's not blessed with obvious tourist sites and locals told me not to go, but I did anyway. What I found quickly became my favourite Tunisian city. Incredibly friendly, real and vibrant.

Come with me, and I'll show you why Sfax is the best!

The Sad Ending To Our Tunisia Trip

In today's episode, we bring you along on our last few days in Tunisia. We had some great moments seeing the SUPER COOL amphitheater in El Jem, the blue-and-white seaside village Sidi Bou Said, the old ruins of Carthage, and the northernmost point in Africa Cap Engela. However, the trip ended on a sour note, before we also had an insanely stressful experience leaving the country (that was our fault lol).

Come along as we show you some really cool spots around Tunisia while also telling you about the complete struggle bus at the end...

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time. We're trying to see and learn as much about the world as possible while we're young. Right now, we are working to visit 100 countries before the end of 2022???? Check our YouTube About page for more details????????‍????‍????????❤️

Exploring Sfax, Tunisia (Kasbah, Synagogue, Christian & Commonwealth War Cemeteries & Ibis Hotel)

Today we go on a walking tour of Sfax, the second largest city in Tunisia, located 270 km southeast of Tunis, on Tunisia's beautiful Mediterranean coastline.

We start the tour in Sfax's beautiful 9th century Aghlabid Medina, in front of the Great Mosque of Sfax. We then head to the sadly abandoned Beth El Synagogue, which was built in 1955. Next is the Sfax Museum of Traditional Architecture, which is located in the Kasbah of the Medina. At the end of the day, we explore some colonial-era French, Italian and even Russian graves in the Christian Cemetery, before visiting the 1,253 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War (52 of them unidentified) in Sfax Commonwealth War Cemetery. There is also a soldier from World War I buried here! We end the day with a quick tour of my hotel room in the excellent Sfax Ibis.

Tunisia's Kerkennah Islands (îles Kerkennah, Sfax) - hidden island paradise with Bradt Travel Guides

I recently took the ferry from Sfax to explore the Kerkennah Islands, which are off the east coast of Tunisia in the Gulf of Gabès. At only 40km end to end and always less than 13m above sea level, the two main islands of Chergui and Gharbi are a hidden paradise that attract very few international visitors compared to Tunisia's larger and more famous Mediterranean island of Djerba. Join me as I explore every last corner of these two islands, including deserted white-sand beaches, Phoenician, Ottoman and Roman ruins and the former home of Tunisia's First President Habib Bourguiba! I also enjoy the hospitality of the excellent Casa Mia maison d'hôtes, giving you a full tour of their beautiful waterfront accommodation.
