This is Guatemala | Cinematic Travel Film
We recently had the opportunity to visit Guatemala while shooting a project for a non-profit. We got a small taste of what the country had to offer during those five days, but it would be unlike us not to make the most of the trip, and we booked an additional two weeks to spend traveling and filming as much as possible.
We visited places like Antigua, Pacaya and Acatenango Volcanoes, Lake Atitlán, and Tikal and did our best to show off Guatemala in all its glory. I'd looked into coming here in the past but never realized how world-class many of these places really are. We both wish we could have spent more time in the country as we only scratched the service, but in those two weeks we spent a couple nights sleeping next to an erupting volcano, climbing Mayan ruins, and exploring the villages and volcanoes around Atitlán.

Guatemala Travel Video Guide - Guatemala has a rich and distinctive culture from the long mix of elements from Spain and the native Maya people. This diverse history and the natural beauty of the land have created a destination rich in interesting and scenic sites.
Spanning a mountainous slice of Central America immediately south of Mexico, Guatemala is loaded with incredible natural, historical and cultural appeal. As the birthplace and heartland of the ancient Maya, the country is in many ways defined by the legacy of this early civilization. Guatemala today is very much a synthesis of Maya and colonial traditions, fused with the omnipresent influences of twenty-first century Latin and North American culture. Baroque churches dating back to the Spanish Conquest coexist with pagan temples that have been sites of worship for millennia. Highland street markets prosper alongside vast glitzy shopping malls, and pre-Columbian festival dances are performed by teenage hip-hop fans.

Guatemala is one of a kind. In April 2021, Ariel and I went to check it out.
From ancient Mayan ruins to active volcanoes, it has something in store for everyone.
We explored the mountains that surround the beautiful city of Antigua - like Vulcan Pacaya, Vulcan de Fuego, and Acatenango - and then made our way to the Mayan ruins of Iximche.
Lake Atitlan, about 2.5 hours from Antigua, is also a stunning place to hang and find some local eateries. Rent a boat for a few dollars and explore one of several towns around the lake, each with their own unique feel!
And of course, we spent a few days in Antigua - the center of it all in Guatemala!
