Year Of Return: Pan African Students Summit - Ghana 2019
#YearOfReturn #Ghana2019 #Brafie #LetsGoGhana. The two Day Pan-African Student Summit both at the University of Ghana (UG) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The Summit builds upon the 3GC-TCU annual Pan African Student Forums held at UG and UCC since 2014 with other campus Pan African student organizations.
The two day Pan African Student Summit engaged university students of African descent from the Diaspora with Ghanaian university students to participate in critical discourse and think tanks on essential topics toward the liberation of all African people around the world: identity and social issues, economics and entrepreneurial possibilities, education, and global health and wellness.
The Pan African Student Summit also includes a service learning day where the collective group commits to a service learning project in a local community. The Summit includes a keynote speaker, panel discussions, think tanks, networking sessions, entertainment, and more.
The Pan-African Student/Youth Conference in Ghana in collaboration with major Pan African Student organizations at both the University of Ghana (International Pan-African Youth Organization) and the University of Cape Coast (ASEG: African Students and Empowerment Group and Africana Conference) to foster network and partnership development between student change makers and budding Pan-Africanist in both the Diaspora and the Continent.

Ghana Beyond The Return
“Beyond the Return” is a follow-up to the successful ‘Year of Return, Ghana 2019’ campaign which commemorated the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the first recorded enslaved Africans in Jamestown Virginia in 1619. The landmark campaign also celebrated the resilience of the African over the past 400 years and welcomed all people of African origin to return to Africa especially Ghana.
Beyond the Return – is a 10-year project under the theme, “A decade of African Renaissance-2020-2030” and will be built on several pillars.
It will provide a platform for engagements among the people of African descent, wherever they may currently be living.
The project and its pillars will be officially unveiled in February 2020.

For some tourists, Ghana might be associated with warm temperatures, the open sea, and great food - but many African Americans have very different associations when they come to visit. Some US travelers come here to reconnect with the stories of their ancestors – particulary the violent rupture in history that was international slave trade.

Year of Return: NAACP Jamestown to Jamestown Ghana tour
NAACP commemorated the Year of Return with Jamestown to Jamestown Trip. The delegation numbering about 300 embarked on a memorable trip from Jamestown Virginia to Jamestown Ghana to commemorate the 400th anniversary since the first enslaved Africans arrived in Jamestown Virginia on August 20, 1619.
The delegation met with President Akuffo Addo, visited cultural and historical sites, and was described by Derrick Johnson (NAACP . President) as a reconnection trip to help understand the journey that brought them to America in the first place.

WWE Kofi Kingston in Ghana
Reigning World Wrestling Entertainment #WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston was in Ghana as part of activities marking the 'Year of Return'. Kofi was home for for a 4-day visit beginning May 30 to June 2, 2019 with a WWE documentary crew. He paid a courtesy call on the President, Nana Akufo Addo Jubilee House and the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace as well as visited many tourist attractions including Lake Bosomtwi, Christiansborg (Osu) Castle, Bonwire, Ejisu and Komfo Anokye.
He will be accompanied by a WWE crew who are shooting a documentary on him as World Champion.

Welcome to day 2 of our journey to Ghana! In this video, we will take you on a tour of some of the most beautiful and culturally significant locations in the country. Join us as we explore Ghana's Year of Return 2019 and all it has to offer.

We'll start the day by visiting the beautiful Kakum National Park, where we'll hike through the lush rainforest and take a heart-stopping canopy walk over the treetops. We'll also introduce you to some of the unique flora and fauna that make this park so special.
Next, we'll head to the historic city of Cape Coast, where we'll visit the Cape Coast Castle, one of the most important landmarks of the transatlantic slave trade. We'll share with you the history and significance of this castle and provide insight into the impact it had on Ghana and its people.
Finally, we'll take you to the African E-Trade Group's Summit, which was held as part of Ghana's Year of Return 2019. We'll give you an overview of the summit and highlight some of the key speakers and topics that were covered.
