Gediminas Avenue (Lithuanian: Gedimino prospektas) is the main street of Vilnius, where most of the governmental institutions of Lithuania are concentrated, including the government, parliament, Constitutional Court and ministries. It is also the location of cultural institutions such as the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, Bank of Lithuania, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Martynas Mažvydas National Library. It is also a popular shopping and dining street. It is partially a pedestrian street in the evenings when traffic is prohibited.
Named after the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas, the street terminates at the Žvėrynas Bridge over the Neris River near Seimas Palace on one end and at the Cathedral Square and Vilnius Castle Complex on the other, passing Lukiškės Square. It connects the Old Town with Žvėrynas.

Street music day (SMD)
a celebration where all those who are capable and willing to go out and play music in the streets, squares or even public transport in various cities of Lithuania and abroad. On this day, the city streets sink in the sounds of music and viewers enjoy the performances created by musicians. Whether you are a professional musician or an amateur; play metal or country - everyone can participate!
The celebration takes place on the third weekend of May
The tradition began back in 2007, when musician and author of the idea Andrius Mamontovas emailed his friends and invited them to go out on the streets of Vilnius. Since then, the idea has become so popular that it has become an international tradition. Musicians perform throughout the day in various venues throughout many cities in Lithuania and at the end of the day create an improvised drum procession with viewers as the official last performance of the day called “Drum2gether”.

In previous years, Latvia, Armenia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Ireland have independently organized the celebration. The Lithuanian community held similar events in: Copenhagen, Sicily, Paris, Pune, Los Angeles, Tallinn, York, Nottingham, Barnsley, Connecticut, Bergen, Innsbruck and London.

Walking in VILNIUS / Lithuania ????????- Summer Tour (1 of 2) - 4K 60fps (UHD)
We are in Vilnius / Lithuania which is the capital city of this baltic country. One of our first walks was in this city during winter so we finally return during summer. While the winters in this northeastern region of Europe are harsh and dark, the summers give lots of sunshine.
We start our tour at the Vilnius town hall in the very center. From there we explore parts of the old town with its numerous churches until we get to one of the main sights - the Vilnius Cathedral.
Our tour continues going uphill to the Gediminas Castle Tower. Up at the former castle we have a nice view over the city and end our summer tour of Vilnius.

Today we walk in the old town of Vilnius which is one of the largest in Europe. No vlog, no intrusive faces or talking - just walking for about an hour enjoying the flow.
We start at the Gates of Dawn enter the old town. Heading down to the Town Hall along some churches towards the Vilnius Cathedral. From there it's a little way up to Gediminas' Tower from where we enjoy a nice view over Vilnius.
A slippery snowy way downhill and onto Gedimino street and finally back to the Town Hall. A nice and a little cold afternoon (-6 °C) during the quiet winter season.

Literatai Street is very popular among Lithuanian and foreign tourists, and is undoubtedly one of the must-visit places in Vilnius Old Town.
It is believed that this street was only named Literatai during the first half of the 19th century in honour of poet Adomas Mickevičius who lived there.
In 2008, a group of artists came up with the idea of revitalising the street and decorating it with works of art related to authors. As such, the walls of the street have been decorated with metal, wood, and glass effigies, as well as other plaques and pieces dedicated to various authors.
