Puglia's Stunning Carnival! | Alex Polizzi's Secret Italy | TRACKS
For the final leg of her journey, the hotelier heads to the south, a region she knows little about. In Puglia, she marvels at the local beehive-shaped dry stone huts and samples a wine with a difference, before heading to the Monte Pollino national park.
Alex concludes her adventure in the city of Matera, where she attends the annual Festa della Madonna Bruna, a week-long carnival culminating in a pagan-style rite of destruction and a firework display.

Alex arrives in central Italy to explore the secrets of the relatively undiscovered Le Marche region. She samples a local seafood delicacy before meeting the designer of one of Italyʼs leading shoe brands in the first shoe's district.
From Ascoli Piceno and Le Marche region, Alex goes cross-country to Rome, a great city that she knows well. Alex takes the opportunity to wander down memory lane, meeting her ex-boyfriend Luca before visiting her late grandfather's home in the hillside village of Monforte.

Whenever I talk to people who plan on going to Italy or have gone to Italy, the same places that they've visited usually seems to come up. From Rome, Venice or Florence, these are easily some of the most travelled and well known places across Italy. It's not like there's anything wrong with these places but in today's video I wanted to show you guys some locations across Italy that you've probably never heard of that you can add to your Italy itinerary that are hidden gems that I absolutely loved.
There's everything in this video from incredible tropical destinations like the island of Ischia and the village of Vieste to special places in the mountains in the region of Abruzzo like Campo Imperatore and unbelievable castles like rocca calascio and roccascalegna. I've even included probably the strangest travel experience I've ever had in my whole life.

We took a few days to explore the beautiful Venice, Italy. As you probably have, we were told it was too crowded and were pretty nervous to go. But we stayed in the Castello area and explored the islands of Venice. There are many more islands than we visited and hope we get to them next time!
