From the Solomon Islands, I fly into Vanuatu. After depositing my things in the Grand Hotel, I have a wander and see some of the main strip. The next day, I wander inland, then cross to the other side of the peninsular.

So here it is - The VANUATU 2018 StormCo Trip video
This trip has got to be one of the most rewarding experiences I have done and I got to share it with the best Year 12 group from Macquarie College. The time spent in both Olwi and Port Villa was unforgettable and even though I was behind the camera a fair bit of the time, it actually made me appreciate a lot of things that I would normally overlook and the trip as a whole has made me truly appreciate the smaller things in life.
To make this video in 12 days with work in between was an almost impossible project. I had to go through almost 20 hours (over 200gb) of footage. Not to mention, putting it together in an 8min edit. For me personally, videography isn’t about putting a bunch of videos on a timeline, it’s about Storytelling. This concept is something that has driven me greatly and is why I really wanted to nail this edit in particular. The concept of storytelling in videography has taken me a while to grasp so i’m hoping this video incorporates every aspect of the trip from not only my perspective, but everyone else’s.
I haven't had much time over the last few months to even pick up a camera and as a result my motivation to create content has been lacking. Vanuatu has made me realise my potential to both create and inspire as I will never get tired of reliving life’s high points and sharing it with others. So watch this space!
