Varadero is best known as a tourist resort town, with more than 20 km of white sandy beaches. It is situated on the Hicacos Peninsula, between the Bay of Cárdenas and the Straits of Florida, some 140 km east of Havana. The peninsula is only 1.2 km wide at its widest point and is separated from the island of Cuba by the Kawama Channel. This spit of land however extends more than 20 kilometers from the mainland in a northeasterly direction and its tip, Punta Hicacos, is the northernmost point of the island of Cuba.

Come with me as I explore Trinidad and chat to the locals about life on the island to find out what Cubans are protesting about? What's it like to live on the island? What basic amenities are available to the population? What's Cuba like? and more. #FREECUBA
I start off buying a sombrero from a couple that have never left Trinidad and explain their difficulties in buying materials for their business. I then head to the local store to show the limited stock they have and how it's impossible for locals to buy anything because the stores don't accept the national currency. Ridiculous I know. After drinking a Cancanchara we get a bicycle taxi to the housing projects where tourists don't go to show a different side to Trinidad. We ascend a roof through a tiny hole and get shown photos of La Trova when the island was a popular tourist destination.

Travel to Cuba Island. If vacationers need to enjoy the famous cigars and rum, dance incendiary conga at the carnival or feel the revolutionary spirit - welcome to the island of Cuba. The island is famous for its delightful beaches, ancient cities, amazing colors. From a bird's eye view from a 4k drone, Cuba resembles a lizard with its head facing the Atlantic and its tail facing the Gulf of Mexico. Rum, cigars, amazing shells, guajava marmalade and a lot of pleasant impressions are often brought from a trip around the island.
General country information
Cuba is the largest island in the state of Cuba in the Caribbean Sea, washed by the Atlantic in the east. The water border runs with the mainland of Florida, USA, Mexico, Haiti and Jamaica. The distance from the island of the US coast is almost two hundred km, to Haiti -77 km, to Mexico - a little more than two hundred km.
The relief of the island is flat, one third of the area is occupied by mountains - 3 mountain systems. The highest mountain point - Turkino Peak with a height of about 2000 m - rises above the Sierra - Maestra massif in the southeast.
The area of the island is more than 110 thousand square kilometers, the population is more than 11 million inhabitants. The official language of Cuba is Spanish.
Capital
The largest city on the island of freedom and the capital of the state is Havana. The city is located in the north of the island, with a population of over 2 million. Havana is famous for its many architectural landmarks, rich history, festivals and colorful carnivals in February.
Havana is a vibrant and multicultural capital, generous with cultural events, Latin American exoticism and unique buildings from the colonial era.

The island is associated with beach vacations, there are about 290 beaches. Its beaches are associated with exotic vacations - white sand, warm sea, azure sky and serene waters.

- when traveling to Cuba, it is better to provide for a part of cash, as there is quite expensive servicing of bank cards;
- Internet most often catches in hotels, on the island it is not available everywhere;
- Taxis in Cuba are expensive and unprofitable - it is better to rent a car.
