Central Asia (Tajikistan Highlights-2018) Part 34

Welcome to my travelchannel. ☛☛☞☛
On my channel you can find more than 1000 films of almost 80 countries. See the playlist on my youtube channel.Enjoy!
Tajikistan:
Tajikistan is a mountainous, landlocked country in Central Asia with an area of 143,100 km2 (55,300 sq mi) and an estimated population of 8.7 million people as of 2016. It is bordered by Afghanistan to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and China to the east. The traditional homelands of the Tajik people include present-day Tajikistan as well as parts of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
Geography
Tajikistan is landlocked, and is the smallest nation in Central Asia by area. It lies mostly between latitudes 36° and 41° N, and longitudes 67° and 75° E. It is covered by mountains of the Pamir range, and more than fifty percent of the country is over 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) above sea level. The only major areas of lower land are in the north (part of the Fergana Valley), and in the southern Kofarnihon and Vakhsh river valleys, which form the Amu Darya. Dushanbe is located on the southern slopes above the Kofarnihon valley. The Amu Darya and Panj rivers mark the border with Afghanistan, and the glaciers in Tajikistan's mountains are the major source of runoff for the Aral Sea. There are over 900 rivers in Tajikistan longer than 10 kilometres. Demographics
Tajikistan has a population of 8,734,951 (2016 est.) of which 70% are under the age of 30 and 35% are between the ages of 14 and 30. Tajiks who speak Tajik (a dialect of Persian) are the main ethnic group, although there are sizeable minorities of Uzbeks and Russians, whose numbers are declining due to emigration. The Pamiris of Badakhshan, a small population of Yaghnobi people, and a sizeable minority of Ismailis are all considered to belong to the larger group of Tajiks. All citizens of Tajikistan are called Tajikistanis.
In 1989, ethnic Russians in Tajikistan made up 7.6% of the population, but they are now less than 0.5%, after the civil war spurred Russian emigration. The ethnic German population of Tajikistan has also declined due to emigration: having topped at 38,853 in 1979, it has almost vanished since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

A Silk Road Story : EPIC 4x4 expedition through Central Asia

Voici un aperçu de cette fantastique épopée.

00:00 – INTRO
More than 2,000 years ago, the great trade routes that linked Europe and China opened Central Asia to foreign cultures, customs and religions. MIR's iconic tour, Journey Through Central Asia: The Five 'Stans, is a modern-day caravan on an epic Silk Road journey to five of these exotic countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

01:44 – KAZAKHSTAN
Kazakhstan is the largest and richest of the five 'Stans. We visit the country's former capital, Almaty, known as the Capital of Apples; Zenkov Cathedral; as well as a falcon farm for an up-close look at these beautiful birds used in hunting.

02:38 – KYRGYZSTAN
Mountainous, unspoiled Kyrgyzstan is Central Asia's best-kept secret. We visit Lake Issyk-kul; learn about horses and traditional horse games; visit Burana Tower; and in the country's capital, Bishkek, we listen to a portion of the famous poem, Epic of Manus – with nearly half-a-million verses.

04:42 – TAJIKISTAN
Tajikistan is a country infused with the influence of Persia, Islam, and Russia. We visit the 2,000-year-old city of Khujand; in this old Silk Road town we explore the colorful covered Panjshanbe Bazaar.

05:06 – UZBEKISTAN
Some of the most famous UNESCO-listed Silk Road sights are in Uzbekistan. We visit Osh and Rishtan in Fergana Valley; explore the country's capital, Tashkent; wander through Samarkand, known as the Crossroad of Cultures with Registan Square's blue-tiled mosaics, mosques, and madrassahs; and see Shakhrisabze, birthplace of Tamerlane the Conqueror. Bukhara was an oasis in the desert for Silk Road camel caravans long ago, and still is for modern travelers today. In Khiva, the Old Town called Ichon Qala looks much as it did centuries ago, while Nukus is known for its once-banned avant-garde Soviet art at the Savitsky Museum.

07:56 – TURKMENISTAN
Turkmenistan is a country of tribal culture and camels as well as modern cities and transportation. We visit three UNESCO-listed sites: Khorezm's Kunya Urgench and Kutlug-Timur Minaret, Merv, and the 2,000-year-old city of Nisa. The tour ends in Turkmenistan's capital of Ashgabat, filled with white marble buildings, as well as a nearby visit to an Akhal-Teke horse-breeding farm.

UZBEKISTAN & KYRGYZSTAN: dead goat polo & off road paradise: ADVENTURE TRAVEL// The Story of B - E10

Drunk people, Day in Day out 45ºC, bike crashes and amazing off roading in the lush green mountains of Kyrgyzstan. All in this new episode!

In April 2019 I left on a big motorcycle adventure starting in Belgium all the way to the Himalaya's and beyond. My plan is: take no highways, ride off-road when possible, wild camp and stay with people as much as you can and try to rock climb in every country.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
UZBEKISTAN

Uzbekistan had some of the most impressive architecture along my trip. Unfortunately it was soaring hot with every day above 45ºC. I thought I would find some colder climate after Turkmenistan but boy, wrong was I! A 30ºC night was considered comfortable, if you had airco. In between the cities there are vast (and from time to time impressive) flats, desserts and desolated terrains.

Nevertheless I couldn't bear the heat anymore and decided to search for the green mountains in Kyrgyzstan.

KYRGYZSTAN

What a Country! this is definitely one of my favourite countries so far! Cheap (and good) Vodka, delicious food, dead goat polo, amazing people and the most stunning green, snow topped hills and mountains. This all combined with wild horses, Yurts, Vodka in the morning and fabulous off road opportunities.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Route: Belgium through Europe, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Australia, ...

Kazakhstan. Motorbike Around the World - Episode 13

Riding in Kazakhstan, traveling motorbike around the world.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT:

EPISODE 13
The solo motorcycle adventure around the world continues in Kazakhstan. We're making pretty good time passing through Almaty going up north but slowly things start to go wrong. After the amazing good times in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan it was time for the bad times. The main roads in Kazakhstan are busy and full of cops but the backroads are a lot more fun for a solo ride and faster too usually. Though in a remote area in a valley everything slowed down and I learned how not to cross a river on a motorcycle. In a hurry, not thinking, heavy bike with low clearance and new circumstances. Plus Alp had the beginnings of a slipping clutch but I had no clue what that was or how something like that feels. Terrible morning spending way too long in that river. The next day we had to turn around back to Almaty to replace the clutch which took five days while the Russian visa started to weight down on me. Take the time to weld the rack again, weld the panniers and weld the top frame which had broken. Also looked up information for the last stint of the motorcycle adventure through Russia, Mongolia and taking the boat to Japan. Up north in the Altai region we can't cross the border at Ridder and the rack breaks again but all was sorted in Shemonaikha before crossing the Kazakh border with Russia. Though however surreal the ride in Kazakhstan, there were some mighty beautiful areas in Kazakhstan.

Enjoy this short motorcycle documentary in Kazakhstan Put together with the video footage that I recorded back in 2014.

My name is Pedro Mota and back in 2014 I left the Netherlands on a beautiful Honda Transalp dual sport motorbike on a trip to the east end of Russia in Vladivostok. On the way there we would take a big detour through the Middle East, Central Asia and Mongolia. Little did I know back then that this would evolve into a years long motorbike travel further taking me through Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the American continent.

Epic off-road adventure in Eastern Europe Documentary

[ENABLE SUBTITLES] An epic off road adventure in eastern Europe and Balkan through 13 countries. Minimal luggage and adventures of a life time in one single month.

In the summer of 2021 we set off on a 8500 km bike adventure. With only minimal luggage we would see the most remote parts of countries that for decades were hidden behind the iron wall.
