Geçen yıl (2021) bu zamanlarda çok uzaklarda idim. Papua Yeni Gine'de! Giderken kullandığımız rota ise oldukça renkliydi: İstanbul'dan Katar'a oradan da Singapur'a... Sonrasında ise merak edilen o ülke : Papua Yeni Gine!
Her şey Koch Knight isimli firmanın orada bir ateş tuğlası renovasyon işi alması ve akabinde alt yüklenicisi olan Keser Makina'nın benimle firma sahibi üzerinden iletişime geçmesi ile başladı.
Teklif edilen pozisyon ise henüz daha İSG ön lisans programından mezun olmamışken Safety Advisor rolü idi. Gittiğimiz adadaki Madencilik şirketi getirilecek tercüman adayının İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği hakkında bilgili olmasın özellikle istemiş ve her iki firma ile olan yıllara dayanan organik bağım sebebi ile pozisyon evvela şahsıma teklif edilmişti.
Nihayetinde 3.5 aylık kısa bir proje olduğu ve İSG alanında deneyim kazanmanın benim açımdan da cezbedici olabileceği varsayılarak söz konusu projede tarafıma şans verilecek olması benim açımdan rüya gibi bir olaydı. Üstelik ekibi de, ekibin başındaki Murat abiyi de önceki projelerimizden tanıyordum. Elbette, kabul ettim. Levent Bey'e ve Proje Direktörüm Jeremy'e o konuda çok şey borçluyum.
Papua Yeni Gine'ye giderken bunun İSG & tercümanlık kariyerim açısından paha biçilemez olduğu tartışılamaz bir gerçekti. Ancak aynı zamanda ben bir YouTube içerik üreticisiydim. Madenden çok fazla içerik belli nedenlerden ötürü kayıt dışı kalmalıydı belki ama pekala gidiş/yolcluk üzerine bir vlog kurgulamamın bir sakıncası olamazdı.
