Take a ride on-board the epic Jaws Ride at Universal Studios Florida. This was filmed on the final day of operation of this classic theme park attraction. Jaws and the Amity area of Universal Studios Florida closed forever on January 2nd, 2012 and were replaced by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley. Located at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Jaws: The Ride was in operation from 1990-2012 and was based off of the Jaws films directed by Steven Spielberg. Jaws can still be seen in 2 Universal Studios theme parks. Universal Studios Japan has a Jaws ride very similar to the one shown in this video and there's a smaller Jaws scene on the Backlot Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood in Hollywood, California.

Jaws Last Ever Public Ride at Universal Studios Florida: The Final Voyage
This is the last ever voyage for Jaws at Universal Studios Florida. Billed as Jaws - The Final Voyage, only 48 tickets were given out on January 2, 2012 to be on the final Voyage of Jaws that night, before it and the whole Amity area closed forever to make way for Diagon Alley.
First the doors to the attraction closed at 8 p.m., then the final voyage ticket holders met and were led through the queue to meet the skipper chosen to pilot the final voyage. Watch to the end when the large crowd of fans waiting on land start singing, chanting and cheering after we defeat the shark.

Jaws the Ride was a boat ride also located at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. The ride featured live acting skippers and was a very fun, family thrill ride. Orlando's version of this ride was almost identical! Both rides feature a physical animatronic shark and intense pyrotechnic effects.

Thanks for Watching the full Universal Studios JAWS ride, great white shark encounter, at Amity Island, Universal Studios Florida. This HD POV Jaws Ride video is of the full ride in Hi Def before it closed for Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts ride and Diagon Alley.
Jaws is a theme park attraction based upon the films of the same name. The attraction places guests aboard tour boats for what should be a leisurely tour of Amity Harbor, but instead becomes a harrowing chase between the craft and a very determined great white shark. Jaws is an expanded version of a famous scene on the long-running backlot tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, also inspired by the film, and could be found at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. A near-duplicate version of the attraction can also be found at Universal Studios Japan near Osaka.
On December 2, 2011, Universal Orlando Resort announced that the Jaws attraction along with the entire Amity area of Universal Studios Florida would close permanently on January 2, 2012, to make room for an exciting, NEW, experience. (the second phase of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.) Severe backlash followed after the announcement. The attraction officially closed on January 2, 2012, at 9:00 pm with Michael Skipper aka Skip giving the final voyage to the last lucky group of 48 guests. By the next morning, the entire Amity area was walled off and completely demolished in the following months. The hanging shark statue from the town square remains as a tribute to the ride and can be found in the Fisherman's Wharf area of the San Francisco section of the park.

1990 Universal Studios Florida - The ORIGINAL JAWS RIDE Training Video!
I was a Jaws boat skipper in 1994 and 1995 at Universal Studios Florida. I loved every moment of my time there spent battling a mechanical shark and, to date, it is one of my favorite theme park memories. In 2012, word got out that the ride was closing permanently. I decided to organize one final ride with some of the original skippers dating back to the attraction's reopening from the nineties. Here's my blog post about it:

This is the JAWS ride from the Universal Studios Hollywood Back Lot Tour (taken in 2012). The previous time I had been there was in 1983.
