Welcome to Romania. A well-kept secret in Europe, a destination not many people go to.
After a negative COVID-19 test result, @fearlessandfar and I headed out into the remote Rodna Mountains in Maramures, for a 3-day wilderness trek. We brought everything with us: our shelter, food, all the provisions we would need. We hoped to find water along the way.

THE REAL UKRAINE ???????? (Rakhiv, Carpathian Mountains)
We made it to the geographical centre of Europe in Ukraine. The Austro-Hungarian momument is located in Rakhiv in the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians. This area, home to an ethnic group called the Hutsul's, feels like a cradle of west Ukrainian culture. After the monument of the centre of Europe we set off for our beautiful guest house in the remote Carpathian village of Kvasy where we explore the village and try a local 'Hustul' dish & more Borscht (of course!).

Iraq wouldn’t be most people’s first choice of destination. The country has been considered unstable for a long time now. The German foreign office warns people off visiting. Years of dictatorship, war and terrorism have left their mark. But this country between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers is also a cradle of civilization, where some of the earliest advanced cultures developed.
Travel vlogger @evazubeck explored ancient Babylon, once one of the most important cities of antiquity. Back in Bagdahd, she visited bazars and cafés, and immersed herself in the Iraqi capital’s nightlife. Watch her adventures!
Good to know: Since April 2021, travelers from 37 countries no longer have to apply for a visa in advance to enter Iraq. Instead, you can get one on entry. For a long time it wasn’t that simple. So Eva grabbed her chance at the end of 2021.

Chances are, you know what happened in the Soviet town of Prypyat in 1986, even if you've never heard the name before. When reactor number 4 exploded at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant, tonnes of nuclear waste and radioactive materials were spewed out into the surrounding areas, some reaching as far as Western Europe. The consequences continue up until today.
On this trip to Chernobyl, I wanted to meet the people that still live here, despite the threat of contamination. This is how I came across Baba Gania.

Today we will be checking out Ukrainian Railways or UZ, the national operator. We are travelling on one of their sleeper trains, but as a day service from Mukachevo in the Southwest of Ukraine, up to Lviv, in the Northwest, a trip of 4 hours & 20 mins. We have a a private compartment today, which basically just means booking all 4 tickets... Enjoy the ride!
**PLEASE NOTE** At the time of filming all travel was permitted and has been carried out in full compliance with the local restrictions.
