On my third day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we explored Antigua's main attractions and we ate some amazing Guatemalan street food!

We started our exploration of Antigua by walking through the historical center of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Antigua. We first saw La Carmen Convent ruins, then we went to La Perla to have a quick espresso and then we visited La Merced Church.

From there we made our way across the city and stopped at Santa Catalina Arch which is the icon of Antigua. It's a a 15 century arch built to help the nuns cross from the convent to a school. Next up we saw the Antigua Cathedral ruins. It was destroyed during an earthquake in the year 1773.

We then made a quick stop at La Casa del Ron and tried some amazing Zacapa rums. We tried Zacapa 23, Zacapa Negro and we tried a Colonial rum which is an artisan rum made by the Zacapa brand.

To end the night we headed to the public laundry square and there, there is a lady selling amazing Guatemalan street food. I tried four different things:
-Chuchitos
-Alot del Elote
-Rellenitos de Platano
-Tostada de Ensalada de Pollo

Each thing was amazing and I highly recommend visiting that lady when you head to Antigua. She gets there around 5:30pm.

Guatemalan STREET FOOD from the GODS in Lake Atitlan | Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala

On my second day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we explored Santiago Atitlan the most important town on Lake Atitlan. Here we tried some of the best street food in Guatemala!

Subscribe to Mariel de Viaje ►

When we arrived in Santiago Atitlan we headed straight for Maya Patin a local street food on Lake Atitlan which is a small salted fish mixed with tomato paste in a banana leaf. It was salty and spicy, super delicious!

Next we continued up the town and we stop and had a spicy Guatemalan snow cone. It was a little spicy but the lime made it extra delicious!

We then visit Maximon, the Maya god or grandfather of Santiago Atitlan. The maya people of Santiago Atitlan believe that he protects the town. You can see him smoking cigarets and drinking! Pretty amazing experience!

To end our day in Santiago Atitlan we visited a local fish restaurant and ate some Black Bass. I had it with a white wine sauce and I also put some spicy sauce they had which was super spicy. Mariel challenged me and I won!

From there we crossed the lake back to Panajachel and drove 3 hours back to Guatemala City to the Real Intercontinental Guatemala. We had dinner at their Japanese restaurant Tanoshii. We went all out with three rolls of sushi, sashimi and sake!

On my first morning in Mexico City I went on an Extremely Delicious Mexican Breakfast Street Food tour of La Condesa neighborhood.

The moment I got off the plane I caught an Uber and hit the 1 hour drive to La Condesa. On the way the driver stopped and waited for me while I ate some delicious Tamales with Morita con Puerco.

When I arrived at my Airbnb it wasn't ready so I left my bags and continued the street food tour. I crossed the street and there was a small stall with tour ladies making quesadillas, chorizo, tacos and much more. I got a Taco de Chile Relleno and a Mushroom quesadilla. Food was amazing!

Lastly I had to eat Chilaquiles with Green Sauce (the spicier one). It is absolutely delicious! And lastly a quick tour of my one bedroom AirBnB in La Condesa.

If you are heading to Mexico City, Mexico I recommend you stay at this apartment. It's in a safe area and the food is incredible, breakfast solved everyday.

Unreal UZBEKISTAN STREET FOOD of Your Dreams + Traveling from Shahrisabz to Termez | Uzbekistan

After spending less than a day in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Shahrisabz, I was on to my next destination in Uzbekistan! Come along with me as I travel from Shahrisabz to Termez and enjoy some unreal Uzbekistan food on the way!

My next adventure in Uzbekistan would take me 5 hours south of Shahrisabz to the town of Termez near the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan border. It’s in the hottest region of the country near Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. I couldn’t wait to travel this road and try some food!

The only way to get there is by taxi. Luckily, it’s super affordable and would only cost me about $40-$50 USD.

Just 25 minutes outside of Shahrisabz, the road was very bumpy. My driver didn’t speak English, but we connected through laughter! The land we traveled through was fertile. Along the road, we could see donkeys, horses, dogs, goats, and cows, as well as men selling watermelon.

I was getting hungry, but luckily, the road got a lot smoother. It was perfectly paved. The vegetation along the road changed – we had some trees now. It felt like a whole different place.

It was just after 8 a.m., so we looked for some food. We found a tiny town where we could get some food. They had some big, round, and dense somsas and a tomato broth. The somsa was filled with beef and onions. It was also baked to perfection! It didn’t contain many spices. The outside was crunchy, while the dough inside was nice and soft.

The somsa is different from Indian samosas and Latin-American empanadas, but they’re so good. I don’t usually like eating lots of onions, but this was delicious! Then, I added some liquid.

I thought I was only going to have the somsa, but then they brought us an incredible tomato salad with cucumbers and onions. It was really nice and had a creamy, cheesy dressing on it. Uzbekistan has the best tomatoes in the world! We also had some water and some really nice green tea.

Then, my taxi driver ordered a huge beef dish with onions. It contained liver as well! I made a liver sandwich with some bread. My driver fed me some of the liquid in the salad and then added it to the sandwich. So good!

The beef was meaty and fatty and was such an incredible breakfast! I loved the tea as well!

With my belly full, we hopped back on the road. We had 3 hours to go. We passed through a small town with a market. I was loving the road trip. This is my favorite thing about traveling. You get to experience the country, interact with locals, and feel the culture. It’s much better than taking a flight or train.

We stopped at a gas station of sorts, but I couldn’t really understand what they were doing. It was scorching out, by the way. The sun was brutal!

With 30 minutes left, we hit the road again! I couldn’t wait to explore the attractions in Termez. There are lots of historical and archaeological sites down there. I wasn’t sure how I’d explore in the unbearable heat, though.

After 5 hours, we arrived in Termez. While we looked for the people from the tourism board I’d be meeting with, I took in the sights of Termez. It was very green and had lots of wide streets. The older buildings looked very Soviet. The architectural style looked similar to what I’d seen in Moldova, which was also a part of the Soviet Union. We found my guide and then we headed toward the Silk Road Termez Hotel.

We arrived at the hotel. My room was huge and had a king-sized bed and a nice seating area. They gave me lots of water and I had a really nice bathroom with a huge tub!

I hope you enjoyed traveling from Shahrisabz to Termez and having some unreal Uzbekistan food with me! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave a comment below. GOURMET FOOD TRUCK EATS | Virginia Key, Florida

The food truck scene in Miami is exploding! Every Thursday night a dozen food trucks gather together in Virginia Key.

TRAVEL HUSTLE REPEAT GEAR ►
MY FILM MAKING KIT ►

We started off at Lili's Chon Fun chinese food truck. There we ate Chon Fun which is a like a crepe chinese style with shrimp, chicken, vegetables and delicious sauces!

Next up was a lobster roll at Red Zepellin food truck. Lobster roll with lobster bisque on top was unreal!

Third up was a buffalo chicken grilled cheese at Miami Grill Cheese food truck. This was probably the best grilled cheese I have ever eaten!

Fourth up was tequino's at Taste of Venezuela food truck. These are cheese fingers with thick dough. They were delicious!

At lastly we went to Che Grill which serves Argentine street food and had a chori pan, which is sausage with bread. This was amazing!

Have you ever been to a food truck festival in Miami or anywhere else in the world?

DELISH North Carolina FOOD & WINE TOUR + Camp North End & Musuem | Charlotte, North Carolina

On my second day in Charlotte, North Carolina, in partnership with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, I went on a fantastic food and wine tour and visited a pair of fascinating local attractions. Everything about this city is amazing!

My Film Making Kit ►

The first place I hit up is Coco and the Director, a modern coffee house in the Uptown area. There, I had a delicious ham, egg, and cheese sandwich and a strong cold brew that helped wake me up after the long day I’d had the day before.

Coco and the Director:

Next, I caught an Uber to Camp North End, a 76-acre historical area that is now a hub for creativity and innovation in the heart of the Charlotte’s North End Smart District, where I visited Hex Coffee, a massive warehouse that once housed a Model-T factory, and an outdoor space featuring local art where visitors hang out, eat from food trucks, and listen to live music.

Camp North End:

While I was at Camp North End, I stopped by Hex Coffee, a small, independent coffee bar that was started by three local guys who strove to be to be forward-thinking, positive creators of culture in Charlotte. Their nitrogen cold brew gave me another jolt of energy!

Hex Coffee:

After that, I went to the Levine Museum of the New South to learn about the history of Charlotte, as well as the rich and complicated history of the American South from the years immediately following the Civil War to the present day.

Levine Museum of the New South:

Finally, it was time to eat at 7th Street Public Market, a major gathering place in the Center City of Charlotte that features many different food vendors. There, I sampled some North Carolina cheeses, local wines, a unique grilled ham & cheese sandwich, and a unique and delicious sushi burrito.

7th Street Public Market:

I hope you liked this tour of Charlotte, North Carolina! If you did please give this video a thumbs up, leave a comment and subscribe to my channel for more awesome travel content!

Delicious McDONALD'S Limited Edition INTERNATIONAL Menu Items | Miami, Florida

Right now Sept - Oct 2018 McDonald's is promoting 4 of it's international menu items in 50 McDonald's across South Florida. My father and I went to our local McDonald's to see what these international menu items are all about!

My Film Making Kit►

For my fathers 60th birthday I decided to make this video with him to celebrate! We headed to our local McDonald's in South Miami. They had all the items except for the Stroopwafel McFlurry because their ice cream machine was broken.

We tried the other three items which are the McSpicy Chicken from Hong Kong, the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain and the BBQ McShaker Fries from Malaysia. Everything was good but my favorite was the McSpicy Chicken from Hong Kong. There is just something about a good chicken sandwich!

Have you tried any of these international menu items at McDonald's? If you liked this video please give me a thumbs up, leave me a comment below and subscribe to my channel!

Japanese BBQ + Black Sulfur Egg TASTING at Owakundani Valley | Hakone, Japan

My 12-day trip through Japan in January of 2019 was one of the most magical travel experiences I ever had. I visited stunning historical and cultural marvels, explored three of the country’s biggest cities, toured beautiful natural wonders, and met lots of amazing new friends along the way! Come join me on my latest Japanese adventure!

My next Japanese adventure began at the Owakundani Valley in Hakone, Japan. This is a volcanic area that is known for their sulfuric hot springs. They’re famous for their black eggs, which I couldn’t wait to try!

The eggs here turn black when they’re cooked in the sulfuric hot springs. You can get 5 for 500 Yen, or roughly $4.50 U.S. They say if you eat one of these eggs, you’ll add seven years to your life!

They give you a little bit of salt to sprinkle on the eggs. They were actually really delicious!

In addition to the eggs, there’s also a huge souvenir shop where you can buy things like chocolate, sake, golden cats, and lots of other items.

Our next stop was the Hakone Open-Air Museum, which boasts grounds encompassing 70,000 square meters and over a thousand sculptures and works of art by artists from all over the world, including Picasso, who has an entire exhibition hall dedicated to his work.

The museum is beautiful! There are so many incredible sculptures and fascinating exhibits. There’s also an area that’s popular with kids, including a net they can climb! There’s also a maze that reminded me of the one from Harry Potter!

There’s also a heated foot bath, which was so relaxing. Afterward, my feet felt great! I had been walking on them for days!

If you love art, you have to go to the Hakone Open-Air Museum! It’s a must-visit!

Then it was time to go to our hotel, the Hakone Kowakidani Onsen Mizunooto, and get some dinner. My room was an amazing mix of Western and Japanese accommodations. It had Japanese-style flooring and a little table as well as two twin beds and a small kitchen. The bathroom was really nice, with a separated and high-tech toilet. They also give you traditional robes to wear for dinner, which I love!

After I got dressed, I went to the restaurant, which had tables with grills set into them. You grill your fish and meat to your liking. I started with a dry sake along with a mixed appetizer plate that contained blowfish skin, tofu, crab, bean, lotus flower, and more.

The tofu with soybean was really tasty and the salad with blowfish skin was like a refreshing coleslaw. There was a crispy crab biscuit and the chicken with poppyseed had a nice texture. The fish cake with salmon was chewy and I loved the monkfish liver. The dried persimmon with cheese looked like a dessert, and the fried lotus flower was super crunchy and felt like tempura.

Next was four types of sashimi with a miso glaze and some sake. The salmon with seaweed went great with the miso mustard, which was similar to a honey mustard. Then I had some sebring, which was incredible with the soy sauce and wasabi I’d mixed together. There was another seabring with a strong herb and carrots. Then I went with the yellowtail!

Then it was time for the things to grill: beef, fish, scallops, shrimp, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. I went with some cod and yam. The yam was like a mashed potato and the cod, or bacalao, was one of my favorites!

First up was grilled trout, which was like butter with the soy sauce. The scallop was also very nice. The Brussels spouts were super fresh and tasty with only salt and pepper. After that, I went with the spring onion and shrimp.

Next was the wagyu beef and duck, which had some nice fat on it. The duck was a bit too rare, but the fat was very nice and the beef was ridiculously good! The salmon roe with gelatin was also incredible and the mushrooms were nice and moist!

The dried sweet potato was incredible and the pork was outstanding. Then I went with some mackerel, more wagyu beef, and sticky sebring rice with herbs and a spicy glaze. The rice was pretty fishy and a little burnt, but nice.

Then, for dessert, we had a type of Jell-O with citrus that was almost like a crème brulee or flan. It was an amazing dinner all around!

I hope you enjoyed coming along for my epic day in Hakone! If you did, please give it a thumbs up, leave me a comment, and subscribe to my channel!
