Орёл и Решка приехали в Иорданское Хашимитское Королевство как раз в Рамадан - девятый месяц мусульманского календаря и священное время для мусульман. Во время Рамадана соблюдается строгий пост, поэтому столица Иордании - Амман (Amman) - встретила нас очень сдержанно. Чтобы почувствовать всю атмосферу города Антон Птушкин решил приобщиться к этому посту и целый день ничего не ел и не пил. How to Survive Flying Emirates Economy Class (Top Tips)
I flew Emirates A380 economy class from Dubai to Zurich. In the video, I gave 8 good tips on how to survive or how to enjoy economy class flying. I am sure you will benefit from some of the tip I gave!

Join me for a relaxed and fun flight from Dubai to Zurich with Emirates. I travel aboard the Airbus A380 aeroplane in Emirates economy class and I reveal eight tips and tricks on how you can enjoy and get the most out of your economy class flight. We can’t all experience the luxury of flying first class but this video aims to show that it certainly isn’t impossible to have a very enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable flight in economy class with just a little prior planning, research and thought.
In this video, I also specifically examine some of the comforts offered by the Emirates airline within their economy class to help their customers. One thing we focus on is Emirates’ provision for children and we examine the complimentary items including blankets, bibs, baby wipes and colouring in books which are given out to families with young children.
Tip #1 – Even if you’re flying in economy class, try and access a credit card lounge before the flight to make yourself more comfortable and prepared for boarding. You’re more likely to start the flight in a better mood and in a more positive state of mind, especially if you’ve had to wait at the airport for a while, if you’ve had something to eat, had a comfortable seat to sit on and been in relaxed and more quiet surroundings. If you are not eligible to enter one of these lounges, consider paying for entry; it is likely to be well worth your investment as one of the biggest reasons why people do not enjoy their flight in economy class is because they were not in the right frame of mind to begin with.
Tip #2 – Use a website such as expertflyer.com to see where clusters of empty seats are on the flight that you wish to take. By using this website, you may be able to purchase seats from the airline’s website which are in a quieter spot, with less people surrounding you. expertflyer.com can show real time seat maps for your flight up to one hour before the departure of the flight, letting you make an informed decision as to the best seat location for you in economy class.
Tip #3 – Use a website such as seatguru.com to get to know the layout of the economy class on your flight better so that you can select more advantageous economy seats with views over the engines, or, perhaps most importantly, with more leg room. There’s almost always a few economy seats with much, much more leg room than others because of the free space that has to be left in front of the aircraft’s mid-placed emergency exit.
Furthermore, after coming on board, if there’s a very favourable seat which is vacant and unsold, grab it before anybody else does!
Tip #4 – If you can, travel in the low season when fares are lower and when planes are less crowded. Low season months are February, May and November.
During my flight in Emirates economy class, I was able to move around to a large number of different seats as, travelling in May, it was low season. I was also able to lie down over a complete row of four economy seats and get a quality rest as if I was in business class, but without business class prices! If you can, it certainly pays dividends to travel in economy class when it’s less busy in the low season.
Tip #5 – Always bring a bottle of water with you to stay hydrated and avoid excessive alcohol consumption which can dehydrate you. Additionally, always bring an eye-shade with you so that you can get quality rest whenever you need it; these are provided on some longer haul flights but it’s always best to have your own, just in case.
Tip #6 – Wear something loose and comfy to promote good well being and also good blood circulation whilst you’re up in the air. This is especially important when the flight is crowded and/or there isn’t a lot of leg room and movement is restricted. This follows on to…
Tip #7 – Wherever possible, stretch your limbs and walk around the cabin – it doesn’t just help keep your blood circulating in what can be a cramped economy class but it keeps your mood happy too. Feeling confined and restricted in economy class is a big source of uncomfortable economy class flights.
Tip #8 – Stay smiling and stay positive whenever travelling in economy class. Don’t forget to bring your headphones with you to listen to some of your favourite tunes whilst you’re in the sky!

It is famous for being the highest large city of Saudi Arabia at over 2 200 meters, some parts of the city being even around 2 400 meters. With such an altitude it is not surprising that Abha benefits from milder climatic conditions that most the rest of the country with day temperatures ranging from 15°C to 35°C. What is more unexpected is that while the rest of the country has one rainy season in March and May, Aseer Province enjoys a second one in July and August thanks to the Indian monsoon that reaches the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

History of Abha
Having been fertile for millennia, despite climate changes, and located to the north of the ancient Kingdoms of Sheeba and Himyar, within the territory named by the Romans 'Arabia Felix', which was crossed by caravans for more than a millennium, Abha and the Province of Aseer have a long history. Although there are no remains dating back to those times in Abha itself, some ancient carvings close to Habalah and the archeological site of Jerash just 30 kilometers away are testimonies of this rich past.
In 1918, the Prince of Asir, Yahya bin Hasun Al Ayde, grandson of Ibn Ayed, returned to his family throne and conquered Abha. In 1920, during his campaign to regain the control over Central Arabia, Abd Al-Aziz Al-Saud sent his warriors, known as Ikhwan, to occupy Aseer Province, a situation that was formalized in 1934 with the signing of the Treaty of Taif between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Aseer Province was still largely unknown by the west when Harry St John Philby explored it in 1932 but it was only finally no longer a blank spot on the map when he published his observations in 1952.
Abha is the capital city of Aseer Province near the Red Sea in southwest Saudi Arabia. It’s known for the craggy mountains of Aseer National Park, which is home to birds, dense juniper forests and the towering Jabal Soodah peak. Built by the indigenous Bani Abd al-Qays tribe, the Jawatha Mosque dates back to the seventh year of hijra and is believed to be the first developed in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province. While most of the original building has been lost, a restoration process means that prayers can once again be held there five times a day and all visitors are welcome.

1000km from Mountain to Ocean (so much happens) - EP 74
Before leaving Ecuador we had a few last things to do: try the country’s national dish (guinea pig), meet our long time virtual friends @HourlessLife and go watch the most amazing animal on the Pacific coast.
Last week we completed our journey through the volcanos avenue of Ecuador. Some of the most amazing landscapes of this journey: Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Majandra… This week is our last in the country and we are not quite ready to leave. Our journey to complete the last few objectives we had for the country take us to the south valley and the gorgeous town of Cuenca, to our last high elevation national park and to the pacific coast of the country. Quite a journey. We are still with @gdayjambo and their famous troopy.
Next week we enter Peru and in all honesty we were not ready for what we discovered… Stay tuned it is going to be an amazing journey.

Jest taka piosenka, której refren brzmi „nigdy nie ufajcie pawianom”. A nawet jeżeli takiej nie ma, to powinna powstać. Pawiany to szczególnie wredne małpy – nie dość, że pozbawione owłosienia tam, gdzie najbardziej by się ono przydało, to jeszcze się z tym obnoszą. Pawiany są wredne, agresywne i niebezpiecznie. Zapraszam Was dzisiaj na krótką opowieść o pewnym stadzie, które urozmaiciło nam podróż po Arabii Saudyjskiej. Opowieść ku przestrodze.
Do położonego na południowym – zachodzie Arabii Saudyjskiej miasta Abha jechaliśmy nieco z duszą na ramieniu. Dwa tygodnie przed naszym przyjazdem padło ono ofiarą ataku dronów nadlatujących z terenu objętego wojną domową Jemenu. Mimo, że odległość od granicy z tym państwem zdawała się spora – w linii prostej to 115 kilometrów – to obszar ten znajduje się już w zasięgu dronów i rakiet rebeliantów. Ataki takie następowały co jakiś czas, a ich celem padało np. tutejsze lotnisko. Decyzję o tym, czy ostatecznie dojedziemy do Abhy czy nie, odwlekaliśmy do ostatniej chwili. W końcu postanowiliśmy, że nie ma co narzekać i trzeba jechać.
Abha jest sporym miastem, ze swoimi ponad 200 tysiącami mieszkańców nie należy jednak do pierwszej dziesiątki miast w Arabii. Znajduje się tu wspomniane międzynarodowe lotnisko, ale ze względu na ataki często jest (tak było w 2021 roku) zamykane dla ruchu cywilnego. Samo miasto jest jak na realia Półwyspu Arabskiego stare, a jego charakterystyczną cechą są gliniane średniowieczne domy o zapadającej w pamięć konstrukcji. Wystarczy zobaczyć je raz, a nigdy nie pomyli się ich z niczym innym.
Największą atrakcją miasta nie jest jednak jego architektura, lecz położenie geograficzne. Abha leży na wysokości 2200 metrów, u podnóża najwyższych gór Arabii Saudyjskiej – pasma Sarawat (Al-Sarawat). Jest to przedziwna formacja geologiczna: jadąc od wschodu praktycznie nie widzi się tych gór – a na pewno nie budzą one wrażenia potężnych. Pomimo, iż w pobliżu Abhy szczyty wznoszą się na wysokość trzech tysięcy metrów, to pasmo jest… płaskie. Na samą grań można wjechać samochodem, gdyż biegnie tam wygodna i gęsto uczęszczana szosa przy której stoją setki normalnych domów. Dopiero po dotarciu na grań otwiera się przed nami przepaść – zbocza gór spadają stromo o blisko kilometr w dół.
Zagadka tych dziwnych gór polega na tym, że zdają się mieć one tylko jedną stronę. Cały półwysep arabski jest uniesiony na swoich zachodnich krańcach ku górze, do wysokości 2-3 kilometrów. W rzeczywistości to ogromna płyta tektoniczna, której jeden bok uniósł się łagodne w górę zamiast zderzyć i wypiętrzyć. Gdy płyta nagle się kończy, cały świat zdaje się opadać w dół jak odcięty nożem.
Zaledwie kilkanaście kilometrów od Abhy znajduje się Dżabal Sauda – najwyższy szczyt Arabii Saudyjskiej. To bardzo kontrowersyjny tytuł, gdyż wszystko wskazuje na to, że nie jest to prawda. Do dziś nie przeprowadzono precyzyjnych pomiarów i wysokość szczytu oceniana jest z dużą granicą błędu – w zależności od źródła jest to pomiędzy 2985 metrów, aż po 3132 metry. Problem z pomiarem wysokości wynika z dużej odległości od punktów odniesienia i stacji bazowych, co całe szczęście nie jest treścią tego artykułu. Osoby zainteresowane z pewnością bez trudu znajdą w Internecie stosowne informacje geodezyjne.
Wszystko wskazuje na to, że Dżabal Sauda będzie musiał wcześniej czy później ustąpić pierwszeństwa innemu regionowi Arabii Saudyjskiej: położonemu na południe do Abhy, zaledwie 30-50 kilometrów dalej… płaskowyżowi. To także niezwykłe, gdyż jest to kolejne stosunkowo płaskie miejsce, tyle tylko że położone na wysokości ponad trzech kilometrów. Na płaskowyżu znajdują się różne pagórki i wzniesienia; które z nich jest najwyższe? To wciąż nierozwiązana zagadka a bój toczy się dosłownie na metry. Problem w tym, że są to wysokości poniżej błędu obliczeniowego. Warto zapamiętać, że najwyższy szczyt Arabii Saudyjskiej wciąż nie został ostatecznie wyznaczony.
Uznaliśmy, że wyjazd na ten płaskowyż musimy odpuścić; jest on zbyt blisko granicy z Jemenem, byśmy nie zwrócić na siebie niepotrzebnej uwagi lokalnych posterunków. Niestety także z wejścia na sam szczyt Dżabal Saudy nic nie wyszło: na szczycie znajdują się ośrodki wypoczynkowe z których korzysta często saudyjska Rodzina Królewska. Wejść na szczyt owszem można, ale tylko wtedy, gdy nie przebywają tutaj Saudowie. Mieliśmy pecha i drogę zagrodził nam szlaban z pilnującymi go strażnikami.
