When it comes to Dallas and food, the first thing people often think of is BBQ. I will say though that, Dallas has come great BBQ and there are a ton a choose from. According to Eater Dallas, here are the 5 best steakhouses in Dallas.

#5 One90 Smoked Meats
Coming in at number 5 on our list, with a 4.5 rating on Google is One90 Smoked Meats. This East Dallas shop, as the name suggests, specializes in smoked meats and offers vacuum-sealed meats for customers to finish preparing at home but also has a full take-out menu of sandwiches, meats by the pound, tacos, and sides.
One reviewer raved that the “Food is OUTSTANDING!” while another said that he “Wish[es] he could give it more stars.”
Keep in mind that this isn’t really a sit-down restaurant and is more suited for taking your food to go.
#4 Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que
Next, with a 4.6 rating on Google is Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que, located at 1820 W. Mockingbird Lane. Smokey John’s is really known for its brisket, including its brisket queso.
First opened in 1976 as “Big John’s” on the corner of Lemmon and Mockingbird, one day the pit inside the restaurant caught on fire. One of the regulars suggested that the name of the restaurant be changed to “Smokey John’s,” and as they say, well the rest is history for this family-owned and operated restaurant.
One reviewer commented that you have to try one of the Big John cakes, either the chocolate (which is the most popular) or the lemon buttercream.
This is also the place to go if you are a vegetarian or have one in your crew. All of the sides, except the baked beans are vegetarian friendly and vegetables are prepared with 100% vegetable oil. One reviewer raved about the vegetarian plate saying that it was “hot, fresh, and cooked to perfection.”
Of course, they also have all of the barbeque meats you would expect along with catfish and tilapia as seafood options.
#3 The Slow Bone
The Slow Bone, also with a 4.6 rating on Google is number three on our list. The Slow Bone is located in the Medical District and offers to-go food and dine-in options as well as vacuum-sealed meats available for pick up.
One reviewer calls it “Absolutely hands down one of the best barbeque restaurants in Dallas!” They note that the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage are absolutely delicious. However, they did note that the sides can be hit or miss.
The Slow Bone has been around since 2013 and they smoke all of their meat in a smoker affectionately called Miss Jessie. I’m sure there is a story there, but I’m not sure what it is.
One unique thing about the brisket here is that you can get it how you want it as they offer options for either lean or fatty. All of the sides are made from scratch and they are known for their fried chicken as well.
#2 Pecan Lodge
Pecan Lodge is probably one of the best-known barbeque places in Dallas and came in at number 2 on our list. Pecan Lodge is located at 2702 Main Street in Deep Ellum. The restaurant started 10 years ago in a bay at the Dallas Farmer’s Market by cooking up family recipes. Even though they have come a long way from there, still today, everything that they can make from scratch, they do make from scratch.
One reviewer said that this place absolutely lives up to the hype with meat that fell off the bone. Reviewers did say to expect a line, but that the wait is worth it (and the calories).
#1 Terry Black’s Barbeque
Also, in Deep Ellum, coming in with the number one spot on our list is Terry Black’s Barbeque with a 4.8 rating on Google. Terry Black’s is an Austin staple and is now also in Dallas.
Reviewers rave about everything here including the brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese.
Like Pecan Lodge, there can be long lines here as well, but everyone says that it is absolutely worth the wait.

#5 SER (Sear)
SER Steak and Spirits sits atop the Hilton Anatole hotel and has amazing views of the Dallas skyline. The modern steakhouse won OpenTable’s Diners Choice award in 2020.
This 27th-floor restaurant is great for a date night, but also group outings as they have plenty of space for impromptu gatherings and corporate events.
SER is known for its elk, bison, and Texas Wagyu rib-eye cap with an espresso rub and chocolate bordelaise. Some of the fabulous sides include mac and cheese with andouille crumbles, bone marrow-golden mashed potatoes, and the Broken Baker with lamb bacon and crème Fraiche.
Based on various reviews, service can drag so be prepared to have lots of time to take in the view.
Also, be sure to attend to its strict business casual dress code, as you will be turned away if you are not dressed properly.
#4 Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse
Nick & Sam’s is an Uptown Dallas hot spot with a wide array of cuts of steak with focused, professional service, an extensive wine list, and live piano music every night.
Be sure and check out the dry-aged chateaubriand filet named The Dirk for just $240 or the long-bone rib eye with truffle butter.
If you are in the mood for being even more decadent, try the lobster mac and cheese or if you want something lighter, the Caesar salad is one of the best in Dallas.
Zagat calls this restaurant “New York-style” with a “swanky” crowd and “killer steaks.” They say that Nick and Sam’s has “top-notch service”, “beautiful people” and “A-list athletes.” Needless to say, Nick & Sam’s is the perfect place for people watching.
#3 Al Biernat’s
Zagat gives the restaurant praise such as “A Dallas treasure”, “never disappoints”, “out-of-this-world-food”, and a “swanky, upscale steakhouse.” The restaurant was also called “noisy”. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on what you are looking for. Zagat also noted that even though it is expensive, it’s worth every penny.
What should you order? Try the Wagyu-Angus filet, Cowboy cut rib-eye, or the Air, Land, and Sea which consists of quail, buffalo, prawn, and scallop.
Be sure and explore the wine list as it is one of the best in Texas with over 650 selections.
To make you feel right at home, the owner Al is known for knowing the names of his patrons by the time you have finished dining.
#2 Eddie V’s Prime Seafood
Don’t let the fact that Eddie V’s is a chain restaurant let you think that it’s not fantastic. It’s hard to decide which is better at Eddie V’s – the steak or the seafood. Whichever way you decide to go, Eddie V’s is also known for its creative cocktails and top-notch service.
For a decadent cocktail, try the 24 Karat which features Belvedere Vodka, Grand Marnier, Peach Liqueur, Raspberries, Roederer Rose, and a Gold Sugar rim. Another one to try is the Hope Diamond. This drink is made with Grey Goose Vodka, Grapefruit Liqueur, Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, and a Diamond Ice Cube.
Some menu favorite side dishes are the crab fried rice and wok-seared, Kung Pao style calamari in spicy soy and ginger sauce. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
#1 Bob’s
Bob’s has been a staple in Dallas since 1993 with a focus on quality meat, sophisticated service, and a cozy, clubby atmosphere. Though it is now a chain with several locations, the original Bob’s is in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas.
According to their website, Bob’s specializes in serving big, flavorful steaks that are hand-selected from the top 2% of USDA prime beef along with Texas-sized portions of their award-winning sides.
The world-famous glazed ‘giant carrot’ tradition started over 25 years ago when Bob himself began to disrupt the steakhouse industry. He began pairing each steak with a larger than life carrot and a Texas-sized portion of potato for a mouthwatering flavor combination. I can tell you, it’s delicious.

Leona General Store : Texas' Best Little Steakhouse with Legendary, Texas-Sized, Hand-Cut Steak
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Leona General Store Steakhouse in Texas, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. This charming little restaurant has a rich history dating back to the 1870s, when James David House and his family moved to Leona's Evans Chapel Community from Tennessee. Six generations of Houses have lived in Leona, and in 1997, Jerry and Cynthia House stumbled upon the old general store and decided to turn it into a restaurant.
Since then, the Leona General Store has become known for its delicious, hand-cut ribeye steaks, smoked chicken, and grilled pork ribeye. The restaurant has a cozy, down-home atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I decided to try the ribeye steak, and it was cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful, with just the right amount of char on the outside. The portions are generous, too - I left feeling completely satisfied, but not overly stuffed.
Overall, I had a great experience at Leona General Store Steakhouse. If you're in the area and looking for a delicious, high-quality steak, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing $17 Crawfish & Seafood Buffet | Bigger and Better in Texas!
Houston continues to impress with the great food selection and the great people! After spending the day with my first ever food challenge with @DavidSriracha , I spent the day recovering, but at night, I decided to venture out to try some Texas BBQ and headed over to the Pit Room for their famous BBQ.
Unfortunately, just as I arrived, the ran out of beef ribs and brisket...some of my staples for the BBQ. Undeterred, I decided to venture out to seek out what Houston Texas has to offer. Driving around a bit, I came across a big sign reading Hibachi Seafood and Grill Buffet! I can't wait to see what's in store!
And I was certainly not disappointed! Upon entering the buffet is huge and more astonishing, the cost of the buffet was only $17 for a weekend seafood dinner! The huge selection not only included essential dishes that one would expect at the buffet, but they also had unlimited crawfish and blue crab, along with many seafood, meats, and made to order items at the grill!
I still can't get over the price of $17...what an incredible deal! I guess the saying is true...things are simply bigger in Texas!

From casual date night spots to the best of the best in Dallas fine dining, here are my top 5 favorite places to grab a steak in DFW.

It's a really good option for Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Chinese and Mediterranean food. You'll get a lot of varieties and diversify food options there. Good varietes of desserts, salad and fruits. halim, nehari, paya is also there. also you'll have kebab option in buffet.
foods are really delicious. tgere is also french fries, fried chicken, nuggets in the menu so kids are also happy with the menu. besides that foods are not that spicy so do not worry whether you're kids can have it or not.
here large sitting arrangement around 300 persons. every Tuesday - friday from 6:30 - 10:00pm they serve buffet and every Saturday and sunday all day buffet continues except 4:00 - 6:30pm.
they also deliver foods to your home with delivery charge.
Nice ambience, clean wash room, staff are generous. also have small prayer area.
price is reasonable.
It's really a good lace to dine with families and arrange different parties here.
