Tunisia Travel | Complete Guide To Know Before You Go with Rania by City Report Channel

Hey guys! Welcome to City Report and today you will find out about Tunisia Travel Complete Guide from Rania that the things To Know Before You Go to tunisia.
Tunisia is a country in Northern Africa bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Neighboring countries include Algeria and Libya. The geography of Tunisia is varied and consists of mountains in the north and a semiarid south that merges into the Sahara. The government system is a republic; the chief of state is the president, and the head of government is the prime minister. Tunisia has a mixed economic system in which there is a variety of private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation. Tunisia is a member of the League of Arab States (Arab League).
Tunis is the capital and the largest city of Tunisia. The greater metropolitan area of Tunis, often referred to as Grand Tunis, has some 2,700,000 inhabitants.
Situated on a large Mediterranean Sea gulf, behind the Lake of Tunis and the port of La Goulette, the city extends along the coastal plain and the hills that surround it. At its core lies its ancient medina, a World Heritage Site. East of the medina through the Sea Gate begins the modern city, or Ville Nouvelle, traversed by the grand Avenue Habib Bourguiba, where the colonial-era buildings provide a clear contrast to smaller, older structures. Further east by the sea lie the suburbs of Carthage, La Marsa, and Sidi Bou Said. As the capital city of the country, Tunis is the focus of Tunisian political and administrative life; it is also the centre of the country’s commercial activity.

Best Colosseum in the World: Colosseum El Jem, Tunisia

The Amphitheatre of El Jem bears outstanding witness to Roman architecture, notably monuments built for spectator events, in Africa. Located in a plain in the centre of Tunisia, this amphitheatre is built entirely of stone blocks. Its size and its capacity (35,000 spectators) make it without a doubt among the largest amphitheatres in the world. Its facade comprises three levels of arcades of Corinthian or composite style. The wall of the podium, the arena and the underground passages are practically intact. This architectural and artistic creation is built around 238 AD. The Amphitheatre of El Jem also bears witness to the prosperity of the small city of Thysdrus (current El Jem) at the time of the Roman Empire.

It is one of the rare monuments of its kind and unique in Africa. The Amphitheatre of El Jem is one of the most accomplished examples of Roman architecture of an amphitheatre, almost equal to that of the Coliseum of Rome.

A DAY AT THE FARM

One of our favourite things to do is to spend time with local people and learn about their ways and lives.

Today we were invited at a farm outside of #Kairouan and learned how to make bread, butter and carpets and how to harvest olives from the olive tree.
Of course in the appropriate attire. ????
