Germany has several styles of timber framing, but probably the greatest number of half-timbered buildings in the world are to be found in Germany and Alsace (France).
Since this building method has been used for thousands of years in many parts of the world, many styles of historical framing have developed. Traditional timber framing is the method of creating structures using heavy squared-off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs (larger versions of the mortise and tenon joints in furniture). It is a common place in wooden buildings from the 19th century and earlier. e.
The most characteristic feature is the spacing between the posts and the high placement of windows. Panels are enclosed by a sill, posts, and a plate, and are crossed by two rails between which the windows are placed—like two eyes peering out

A day at a time progress is continuing on Elvie and Rebekah‘s new home.
Wayne and Isaac are installing timber frame beams and frame walls in the basement.
Phillip installs the septic tank with the special crane from Granite Concrete.
Elvie backfills the basement with dirt while the crew installs the subfloor.
Finally, Tyler, Isaac and Elvie are able to begin installing the board and batten on the greenhouse wall.

Elvie and the crew head to near Yellowstone Park Montana and assemble the log walls of a 42 x 42 single level ranch log home. On day two they install all the windows and doors. On day three they go home.
This log home has flat walls on the interior and rustic, natural hand peeled round surface on the exterior.

The crew returns to install the windows and doors, frame the interior walls, and sand and buff the log interior.

This window is available from Meadowlark and delivered to your site for our crews to install. It is available in many exterior colors, is heavy and strong and super airtight.
Finally, Elvie applies the bio- safe plant-based interior Timber Pro Crystal Urethane Clear Satin Varnish. This is applied in 4 layers, or finish coats to all inside log walls, beams and ceilings, resulting in a smooth clear beautiful protective finish that beautifies the interior and makes the home glisten with all the color variations in the log walls.

157th Meeting of the PFBC Board of Commissioners - January 22, 2024
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Board of Commissioners held its 157th board meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2024.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is an independent administrative commission consisting of ten competent citizens of the Commonwealth who are appointed by the Governor by and with the advice and consent of a majority of the Pennsylvania Senate. Commissioners serve for terms of four years.
Two members of the Commission serve at large and are experienced in boating and water safety education. The remaining eight members each represent a specific geographic district. They are persons well informed on the subjects of conservation, restoration, fish and fishing, and boats and boating.
The Commission ordinarily meets four times a year. All meetings at which agency business is conducted are open to the public. In addition to full Commission meetings, committees may conduct public meetings throughout the year.
The meeting was recorded through Webex as well as streamed with the public. The recordings are then posted to our website for archival purposes.
