4K | TROGIR CROATIA | the best city-island in the world | Travel Guide 2021 #worldheritagesite

Welcome to Trogir and A&A Travelling. Trogir is a historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Croatia, with a population of approximately 13,000. The town is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. Trogir is located very close to Split`s International Airport and today is also part of the greater Split metropolitan area.
From the bus station in Trogir there is a frequent local 37 bus to the airport and to Split and there are also daily intercity buses to cities like Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Zadar.
The town is located 25 km from the centre of Split (30 minutes by car). From the airport you can take the 37 bus, that runs every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening and on Sundays. It costs 11 Kuna.

BY FERRY
There are two ferry lines that sail from Split to Trogir and vice versa:
Split - Slatine(Ciovo) - Trogir
Split - Trogir -Seget- Drvenik Veli - Drvenik Mali

WHAT TO SEE
Small medieval and renaissance towns, spetacular islands, stunning beaches and Roman ruins.
The enchanting town of Trogir is surrounded by 15th-century walls, small medieval streets, restaurants, eye-catching galleries, a wide promenade around part of the town, a charming port full of sailboats waiting to take you to the nearby islands with their pristine sand beaches.
Inside the walls of this medieval town you will find a spetacular Venetian Cathedral of St. Lovro, a 15th-century town Hall, the Church of St. John Baptist with its impressive carved portal.

If you are staying in Trogir, we recommend a visit to the city of Split with its busy commercial port, shops, restaurants and the amazing ruins of Diocletian`s Palace. The ancient ruins of the Roman city of Solin are also just a short drive away from Trogir.

You should also visit a town called Okrug Gornji on the island of Ciovo only 3 km from Trogir. the town has a 1 km long beach with lots of bars, restaurants right next to the sea. If you want to have a good night out, then this is the place for you.

The islands of Drevnik are very beautiful and definitely worth visiting, but the restaurants here are kind of expensive.

THANK YOU FOR COMING

Croatia (Europe) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Croatia.
Croatia is a European country located in the Mediterranean, a treasure trove of culture and architecture with a long history, ancient buildings, Christian churches, Venetian cities, colourful traditions and stunning coastline of more than a thousand islands. Zagreb is its political and cultural focal point, an amiable capital city situated at the intersection of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. The Kaptol district has been its Catholic heart since the Middle Ages. An atmospheric place, Upper Town is a gem Zagreb’s historic past. North of Zagreb on the western border with Slovenia, the picture-perfect Veliki Tabor Castle rises on a hill, its Renaissance courtyard with columns and arcades possessing a touch of southern elegance. Kumrovec, birthplace of the former President of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, is located south of the castle and is now a museum village. The historic centre of Rovinj is located on a shell-shaped peninsula, further south on the Adriatic coast. Seen from the sea it is one of the most stunning of the Adriatic’s harbour cities. Situated close to the southern tip of the Istrian Peninsula is Pula, the oldest city on Croatia‘s eastern Adriatic coast. The largest square of the Old Town, and today‘s main square, was originally located on the site of a Roman forum. The historical centre of Split is a cultural work of art, its palace, sea aspect and bay a harmonious blend of both ancient and mediaeval times. Dubrovnik‘s historic centre possesses many treasures such as the Onofri Fountain, the Saint Spas Chapel and the Franciscan Church. Due to its magnificent location, unique Old Town and beautiful buildings, Dubrovnik has become tantamount to an amazing work of art. Croatia is a country of timeless Mediterranean beauty, a place in the sun where history reflects in the Adriatic and Occident meets Orient - a Balkan paradise!

CHILLED SPLIT ALTERNATIVE — TROGIR | UNESCO World Heritage Site | Croatia Travel Vlog

Split is well known in Croatia, but what about alternatives? Trogir is a small town and UNESCO World Heritage Site west of Split and... ✈ Learn to travel full-time:

When considering where to travel in Croatia it's natural that Split features on the list - its coastal, central and home for a lot of boats and tours... oh and its obviously beautiful. What about Trogir? Ever heard of it?

Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage site and small town thats a great alternative to Split. It's a lot more chilled than Split, a small island only and has a distinctive old town feel to it.

Trogir cathedral, Fortress Kamerlengo Castle and the old town are the highlights - but the town has a small town feel with a big time charm. If you're considering where to go after Split or want some where to escape the pace for a little while definitely add Trogir to your list.

BEST VIEWS IN SPLIT | Trogir to Split Ferry | Croatia Travel Vlog

Split is one of the most popular travel destinations in Croatia, so if you're planning to visit on holiday definitely check out the view! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇

We got some recommendations from some Croatian locals about a place we had to make a travel vlog about - it's overlooking Split harbour. Today we set out from Trogir to Split ferry to track down those views and we're glad we did.

Split is known as one of the main holiday destinations in Croatia, but sadly most people will spend their time exploring the inner city or old town itself and never really explore much further. We're here to tell you that your holiday should involve a very small amount of exploring. Definitely head up to the overlooking headlands and get a view back down on Split! Thank us later.

The ferry from Trogir to Split and back was easy by the way, we highly recommend it as a great way to see both places and the incredible Croatia coast.

Thanks to Squarespace for sponsoring todays video. We've recommended Squarespace for some time now and Stace is using the platform to build out her portfolio - it's fresh, an amazing back end and everything just works so easily so we can highly recommend them. Croatia Vacation Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations

Croatia is blessed by an unfathomable natural richness. The lakes of the Plitvice and Krka National Parks, the waterfalls, the rapids and the caves are all among the most beautiful landscapes of the world. The capital, Zagreb, captures the visitor with its inward mood and monarchy style buildings. Beside the warm watered fjords, the river deltas, the green hills, and pine forests many snow-covered mountaintops await the visitors. The smiley islands are providing the tourists various landscapes from the empty cliffs to the lush vegetation. The Adrian Sea with its bay, reefs, tempt us to water sports, and boat adventures, while its beaches promise the visitors a sunny holiday. Every settlement of the country, from the smallest to the largest, is rich in cultural, historical, architectural and artistic values. Beside the romantic, Mediterranean cities, the little bays, the idyllic villages there are baroque and gothic churches, Roman amphitheatres and theatres, sanctuaries from the roman age, golden mosaics, Venetian forts and towers invite us, and of course the roasted food and tasty vines.

Dubrovnik (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Within the southernmost archipelago of Dalmatia is one of the most fascinating harbour cities of the young republic of Croatia, Dubrovnik, a breathtaking Mediterranean city with a great history. The city of stone had its heyday in the Middle Ages and was one of the most important economic and cultural centres in the Mediterranean. An ancient courtyard gate leads to the Old Town and to Luža Square, the city’s main square that contains a fine clock tower and splendid palace Loggia. The sixteenth century Sponza Palace consists of a combination of designs, including both Gothic and Renaissance, and once contained the Customs House and Mint. Despite much foreign rule, the city largely succeeded in being autonomous. Velika Gospa Cathedral was built between 1672 and 1713 on the ruins of a Romanesque basilica. According to legend, Richard The Lionheart was shipwrecked in the city on his return from the Third Crusade and his financial donation made it possible to build the city’s first church. From the thirteenth century the city was fortified with powerful walls that now rank among the largest, and also the most beautiful, in the whole of Europe. Dubrovnik is, amazingly, still a storybook city with all the flair of the Middle Ages. A treasure trove of history and undisputed Pearl Of The Adriatic.

Trogir (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Trogir in Croatia.
The picturesque old town of Trogir in Croatia is situated on a small island which is connected to the mainland by a bridge and protected by walls and a fortress. In 380 B.C. Greeks from Issa settled there and founded the fortified city of Tragyrion. It was only under Croatian rule that the island fortress regained its former importance when, in 1107, it became a diocesan city and received municipal rights by King Koloman. At the south-western end of the island is the imposing Kamerlengo Fortress, former residence of the Venetian governor and his militia. High walls connect various towers from which there is a good view of the sea. Church steeples rise above the rooftops.as though to highlight the importance of religion during Venetian rule. Several coastal towns entered into agreements with Venice whose mighty fleet offered protection against pirate raids. In 1997 the entire old town was designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site, a closely packed-together collection of residential buildings, churches, narrow streets and courtyards.Repeated hostilities of the Ottomans finally ended the heyday of this fine city but its former splendour has been well preserved and Trogir now serves as a priceless glance back into the Middle Ages.
