Belfast – Come to the northeast coast of Ireland to experience an eclectic mix of history and modernity. Follow our journey to Belfast and start planning one of your own.

When ready, browse vacation packages to Belfast:

Scattered throughout the countryside of #Belfast, you’ll find Iron Age forts, medieval castles, and more modern construction dating to the 20th century. Belfast got on the fast track to modernizing in the 19th century, when it became known as a shipbuilding mecca. Among the famous vessels built at Belfast through the decades are the RMS Titanic and its sister ships, Olympic and Britannic.

A great deal of Belfast’s modern identity stems from over three decades of political and religious strife. These issues have influenced much of the city’s public art, as a great number of murals and statues depict people and events from those times.

Belfast makes a great #vacation destination. The city is easily navigable on foot, and you never know what sort of delightful gallery, park, or restaurant you’re going to find just around the bend.

For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

BELFAST City Guide | Northern Ireland | Travel Guide

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and one of the most popular travel hubs in the United Kingdom. Around 2.5 million tourists visit Belfast each year.
Belfast is split by the Peace Wall, a physical barrier between the predominantly Protestant and unionist area of East Belfast, and the predominantly Catholic and nationalist area of West Belfast. The Troubles, a time of sectarian warfare and brutality in Northern Ireland from the late 1960s to the late 1990s, are responsible for this separation.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS BELFAST ???????? (Northern Ireland surprised me)

Wondering how to spend 48 hours in Belfast? Our Northern Ireland weekend trip was actually even shorter than that, and we still had the best time. I had been to Belfast once before, but I was surprised this time around – there are so many things to do in Belfast! From drinking at Irish pubs and eating at great restaurants, to browsing St. George's Market and local thrift shops, this weekend in Belfast vlog captures it all! I'm so grateful for this little girl's trip that I got to do with my friends here in Ireland.

Amazing things to do in and around BELFAST | N Ireland | Travel Guide

Want a stunning weekend break? Then join us as we show you Belfast and the Causeway Coastal Route, on this Northern Ireland road trip! Amazing things to do in and around BELFAST

Visiting the Game of Thrones Dark Hedges, The Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Titanic, Mount Stewart, sample the nightlife at some of the famous pubs in the Belfast City Centre and much more.

Belfast has stepped it up a gear and is now truly a fantastic destination for a weekend break. With flights from Europe at reasonable prices, you can bag a great deal within a low budget.

We hired a car to allow us to travel further out of the city and within just a 2 hours radius there are many attractions and beautiful and stunning locations/views.

We drove the Causeway coastal route in a loop so that we ended up back in Belfast at the end of the first day. Maps and links are in the video and below.
Setting out at 8am we started at the Dark Hedges, this enabled us to arrive at the Giants Causeway at 9.15am close to opening and to try and avoid the crowds.
We spent a few hours walking the coastal trails before the weather turned so we moved on by 10 miles to Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. . Torr Head was our next stop, with views over to Scotland and the Mull of Kintyre.
Back in Belfast for the evening we sampled some Guinness and visited a few of the famous pubs in the Cathedral Quarter. It's very lively here and worth checking out the area. There is lots of choices.

On Sunday we started the day with an Ulster Fry at Maggie May's before driving the Shankill road to look at the murals. The Titanic Museum is £19 and at that price, you want to make sure you give yourself a few hours to see all the artefacts and outdoor locations. Sadly we didn't feel we had enough time to see it all and so passed on the entrance fee and walked around the free open areas. An excuse to come back and do this attraction properly sometimes!

To end our weekend, we had a beer at The Crown pub in the city centre. It's a very famous Victorian pub with all its original fixtures and fittings. See if you can find a free booth to sit and drink in!

20 things to do in Belfast Travel Guide | Top Attractions Travel Video Transcript:

Well hello from Northern Ireland. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights.

The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city.

Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship.

The SS Nomadic was a steamship built as a tender to the RMS Titanic. It was her job to ferry passengers, baggage, and supplies to and from the shore.

Next up we are heading inside St George's Market, which we've been told is more than just a farmer's market. Apparently, aside from buying food there you can catch some live shows, go shopping for vintage items, jewelry. So we're going to head inside and see what it is like. And it is only open on the weekends.

Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. It also happens to have a really nice campus, so we decided to take a little stroll.

The Botanic Gardens first opened as a private garden in 1828, and for many years the public only had access on Sundays. Today anyone can visit and it's a beautiful place to walk around, especially if you luck out with sunshine.

So if you take a look at my pint over here you might be thinking I'm having Guinness. It does look a lot like Guinness but in fact it is Belfast Black. And I have to say it tastes just as good if not better.

For 360 degree views of Belfast, we recommend going to Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and riding the elevator up to the dome. This will give you a nice bird's eye view of Belfast.

So to wrap things up here in Belfast I'm going to mention three things I really liked about the city.

First off it is highly affordable. One of the best bargains you can get is a day pass for the bus. It's really cheap and it allows you to travel anywhere in the city unlimited usage.

Secondly, this is a very friendly city. Almost anytime we brought out a map we had a local coming up to offer help. And we just found that whenever we took taxi rides or were in restaurants locals really went the extra distance to make us feel welcome here.

And lastly this is a very walk-able city. Most of the attractions are clustered.

And that's it for our quick trip to Belfast! As you can probably see, our visit was fairly short so we didn't get to do it all. If you have any suggestions of other sights and attractions worth checking out around Belfast, feel free to share those in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Northern Ireland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Irish culture, Irish arts, Irish foods, Irish religion, Irish cuisine and Irish people.

One Day in Belfast, Northern Ireland | Most UNDERRATED City in the UK

Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Travel Vlog | Belfast, Northern Ireland is a wonderful city. Belfast's Maritime History. especially relating to the Titanic and other manufacturing is incredibly interesting. Belfast is where the Titanic was built, as well as where many other World War Naval Vessels were construct. Belfast City Centre and City Hall were also extremely fun to be in. While many people say Belfast is a dying city, especially as manufacturing jobs start to disappear, I see hope for Belfast. Belfast is the most underrated city in the UK.

BELFAST VACATION TRAVEL GUIDE

When you hear “how ‘bout ye’” anywhere in Ireland, you do not need a tour guide to tell you ‘welcome to Belfast’. This is a city with a current population standing at almost 300,000 which has grown into a cosmopolitan destination where weekenders choose as the break spot. At this Titanic city, you are delving into where it all started for that Ship of Dreams. If you can, please make your trip around June to September when you have the best of weather conditions.
