After one of the most volatile and unpredictable travel years ever, I flew to Brazil in December of 2020. There, I linked up with my friends Guilherme and Rafa from Rio4Fun and Rio4Food for an epic road trip through the southern part of the country, beginning in São Paulo!
São Paulo is the most populous city in the entire southern and western hemispheres, with over 30 million people calling it home. The city’s cultural and culinary identity has been shaped by its significant Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Arab, and Jewish populations.

The diversity in the cuisine is evident throughout the city, from Mercado Municipal de São Paulo, where you can try everything from a pastel de bacalhau to a monstrous mortadella sandwich. And in the Liberdade neighborhood, you can find restaurants selling Japanese-inspired dishes like miso-marinated pork and beef, sake, and takoyaki.
Of course, a traditional breakfast of pão de queijo, pão na chapa, pastel de Belem, and sonho are a must, as is a stop at one of São Paulo’s many churrascarias for some authentic Brazilian barbecue.
Add in attractions like Estado Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho, Paulista Avenue, and Batman Alley, and you’ve got a nice amount of diverse things to explore in the city. But instead of me telling you all about it, let me show you my incredible 48 hours in São Paulo, Brazil!

We started our trip in São Paulo before heading down to Iguazu Falls and the Paraguay city of Ciudad Del Este. From there, we flew up to the original capital Salvador da Bahia and spent a few days on the local island Ilha Itaparica. We then finished the trip with a week in the fascinating world-famous city of Rio de Janeiro. All in all, our three weeks in Brazil were a blast and we can't wait to return!

Is this São Paulo or New York? ???????? Discovering BRAZIL’s MEGA CITY
We had such a great day, partying in the streets of Sao Paulo on Paulista Avenue during something known as pedestrian Sunday. We find it unbelievable (and awesome!) that this type of party happens every weekend in Sao Paulo. Drinking, dancing, trying new street foods and lots more!
We absolutely loved filming this Sao Paulo, Brazil Vlog and are very excited for our 3 month trip - which just started this week!
Stay tuned for more Brazil travel vlogs, including Brazilian food vlogs, and some deep dives into the history and culture of Brazil. Of course, we will be heading over to Rio De Janeiro for some beach life (and more drinking and dancing, we'd imagine) and then into the Amazon rainforest to capture some wildlife. So, in the end, lots more good content to come from Brazil!

Names you need to know:
Firstly, book your Ilha Grande accommodation in Abrãao.
At the main bus station in Rio
you can buy your ticket at the CostaVerde counter - check the timetable here
We bought it to Concecao de Jacarei
To make your way to Paraty - we took the ferry to a mainland port town called Angra dos Reís
and from the port we made our way to the bus stop (just turn right and keep going) , NOT the bus station and here we waited to board a public bus to Paraty.
To get to Iguazu fall you need to fly to Foz do Iguaçu from Brazil.
If you are making your way from Argentina, you need to fly to Puerto Iguazu.

1. Don't expect to get anywhere quickly in Sao Paulo. With so many people, cars and craziness it will take you longer than what google says it will to get anywhere.
2. Don't skip the Mercado Municipal! This Sao Paulo tradition is amazing. From amazing fruit to the best bologna or sorry Mortadella sandwich you ever ate.
3. Don't skip out on eating non-Brazilian food while in Sao Paulo. There are tons of amazing places, foods, restaurants and styles for you to enjoy!
4. Don't lose your wits. Pay attention! Sao Paulo has a reputation for crime for a reason.
5. Don't expect a beach vacation. Sao Paulo is not a Brazilian beach city, it is a cultural, shopping, museum, business hub for South America.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.
We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Welcome back everyone to our Channel, we are Dan and Bella,
Today are flying from Sao Paulo, Brazil to here, now we are stopping at this Lisbon, Portugal airport for transit to Athens, Greece. Since we are flying from a non EU country, so we need to go thro Immigration, security, and for the luggage we check with the immigration during he stamp our passport, so we don’t need to pick up and check in, so always a reliefe that we don’t need to do that when we arrive to the new country.
Anyway, we arrive very early, here we are at TAP Air Portugal Lounge to see what food and drinks and show you the as usual, also we had so much food on the airlane, I notes that, normally when you are flying business class whith an airline and had the food on the airplane, and when you are coming to their lounge at the airport, my notes is that at least the food you were eating on the airplane are in here too.
and yes, there are the area for the breakfast food and drink, they got so many drink selection even the beer as well, but most of the people here now they are just starting with coffee, orange juice and some sandwiches and here more seating area, especially they got like a dark room if you come to this area is more like for you guys for a long lay over and need a quite place for a nap.
This is great, the wooden color it seem like you are in a sauna room but maybe they want you to feel that way to be more relaxing while you are laying there, big space, bug I can say only can lay one person in a room, it seem they have 5 rooms in this area.
After we come doen from the 2 lounges upstair, here we are walking a long hall walking way to our gate, for somereason I kind kinda have a feeling like we are not the airport, like the way this airport design, you see most like restaurant, shops, I feel like we are walking inside the shopping mall, leave me us a comment if you agree, last but not least the shop you will see more than at the normal airport is the soccers shop, and of course this is Portugal, where the most Soccker playing come from oh no wait is it Messi or Rolando? What do you guys think? Which is the most famous?
anyway guys, we are now off from this airport shopping mall to our gate and yes now I feel like we are inside the airport.
and now we are on the air again, welcome on board everyone from Lisbon Portugal to Munich Germany, our flight today is gonna be 3 and 10 minutes flight, this is our favorit part when we take off, always see the amazing view on each city, this one is special the clound over the whole city of Lisbon City, but you still see the higest one rise up above the cloud. This is just beautiful.
and just like that we are now in Munich Germany airport, a quick lay over here in Lutansa airline lounge, lets see what are the different snacs or food this lounge has vs to the lounge in Portugal
