//FAQ
Q: Where is this?
This is the Train Driver's/engineers/operator/conductors view from the Bergen Line and the Famous Flåm Railway in Norway in Northern Europe. They are rated as two of the worlds most scenic railways in the world.

Q: Is this LIVE?
A: No, this stream is not true live because of LIABILITY. Imagine the legal backlash if I streamed a trespasser strike Live on YouTube. That would be a direct breach of the Community Guidelines (Violent and Graphic content) and Terms of Services. As well as the legal issues the company I work for and myself would face when viewers would take legal actions against us for being subjected to such content.

Q: Are you a Train Driver?
A: Yes, I work as a Train Driver/Engineer/operator on the Bergen Line and Flåm Railway.

Showing you the Cab View from two of the most SCENIC RAILWAYS in the World - The Bergen Line and the Famous Flåm Railway in NORWAY. Usually these lines are known for their summer imagery, but they look amazing in a different way during winter.

This is a pre-recorded playlist due to liability and safety reasons. I work as a Train Driver/operator/engineer on the Bergen Line and Flåm Line, and I'm giving you a virtual train travel riding in the seat next to me in the drivers cab. ENJOY!

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: Bergen - Myrdal on a windy Saturday in 4K UltraHD

Arriving in Bergen at 8am, changed direction and getting ready to head for Myrdal on this windy morning.

On my way to bergen in the 6:08am departure from voss ( we encountered a triggered avalanche warning system. You would think that things would be smooth sailing after that, but no. On this part we can add a technical signalling failure. A train drivers heart stopper is to see a signal switch from green to red right in front of you.

4K CABVIEW: FREIGHT NIGHT on the Bergen Line

It's finally freight night on the Bergen Line! We're going from Ål to Bergen on this trip. In Bergen we'll be going around with Locomotive and pulling out on the Kronstad track which was part of the original Vossa Line. The Vossa Line opened in 1883 and Bergen station opened in 1913. The line was first a narrow gauge but was converted to normal gauge in 1909 with the completion of the Bergen Line. After pulling out on the Kronstad track we'll be slipping back into the freight terminal.

4K CABVIEW: Nightmare conditions on the mountain!

Complete nightmare conditions on the mountain! This trip portrays some of the worst conditions I've ever faced on the mountain pass. It is on trips like this Line knowledge really comes to mean something, when you don't see anything and the signals are all covered in snow or pops out of no where.

Arriving Geilo meeting the delayed passenger train 602 bound for Oslo kind of told me what kind of conditions I would be facing on the mountain. By the time I got there, the weather had turned worse! Faulty signalling system at Ustaoset, zero visibility and snow flying in all directions, this video surpass Stormy winter conditions on the mountain pass ( by far!

4K CABVIEW: Howling winds and HEAVY snow! ????️????️❄️????️

The roads are closed due to the howling winds and heavy snow over the mountain pass, the trains, for us it's normal service as usual. One of the huge benefits of trains are the ability to traverse areas with horrendous winds and snow due to our weight and mass.

Starting off at Ål I will run a freight train to the freight terminal in Bergen.
The moon is right behind us and it will light up the mountain landscape on our way over.
The trip traverses the mountain pass on the Bergen Line which is one of the most inhospitable environment during winter. It's cold, it's snowy and the weather can turn on you within minutes. You'll even see the stark difference from one side of the Finse tunnel to the other.

Interesting points on the trip has been marked with a ❗ in the chapters section.

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: The secret room in the Finse Tunnel

There has been a lot of questions regarding the spur that leads off inside the Finse Tunnel. Where does it lead? Where does it end? And what's in there? Well, I'll show you.

You can also see drill bits still stuck in the wall in the stubs. The turn table was used to turn the plow train before they started using the Beilhack.

I was on a position run (empty train) with the new VY-colored train from Drammen to Bergen. Had to wait a while for the train in front of me to reach the next station. Got permission from the traffic controller to go into the secret room in the Finse tunnel. With other words, there were no passengers.

Enjoy!

4K CAB VIEW: True to eye view of the Flåm Railway (Myrdal - Flåm)

A GoPro can show you vast and beautiful sceneries because of it's super wide lense, but it can never show you how truly spectacular some view really are in real life.

This will give you the true to eye view of the scenic Flåm Railway from Myrdal to Flåm. The mountains are so much steeper, so much closer and so much more detailed. The curves are so much tighter and the gradient looks so much steeper compared to what you can get out of a GoPro.

Enjoy!

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: From sunshine to near zero visibility to sunset

NOTE: This is the NON-NARRATED UPLOAD and in true 4K.

This Sunday departure from Ål to Voss runs mainly during winter to help alleviate the pressure for the Regional Trains from Oslo to Bergen. During the weekends there are many passengers going back home from the Ski Resort in Geilo and cabin areas at Ustaoset, Haugastøl and Finse.

When you see how flat the light is and how little visibility there is on the mountain during conditions like this, you'll understand why not being fully equipped and knowledgable could be the end of you.

The Consist today is 2x Class 75H (Stadler FLIRT) which has 554 seats in total, with standing passengers it can take about 1068 passengers.

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: Winter sun in the Halling valley from Ål to Oslo

#TrainDriversView #CabView #BergenLine
This was a very beautiful day through the Halling Valley. Some misty parts and the low sun and ice on the water was breathtaking.

And in Drammen I got to meet a huge fan of the channel. His name is Jack, and he's totally awesome!

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW PREMIERE: Winter Wonderland in the Halling Valley

I've been working the Ål - Oslo part quite a lot lately, which means higher average speed, less tunnels and more forest. This day was particularly picturesque view of the Halling Valley.

TRAIN DRIVER'S CHAT: From the depot in Oslo to Ål in September

A little throw back to September where i picked up the locomotive in the workshop and drove out the back door almost down to Loenga Station (usually just freight), and back down to Lodalen.

PS: My quarantine is finally over!

TRAIN DRIVER'S VIEW: A whole day in the Local Service

Today I'm taking you guys with me on a whole shift in the Local Service on the Voss Line.
It's one of the shorter shifts, but you get to see what it can consist of. And today it is Voss - Bergen - Arna - Bergen - Voss. The return to Voss is in the dark, so you get to see the performance of the GoPro 8 in very low light environment.

The GoPro 8 kind of derped again for a short bit at Trengereid. Thankfully it has happen just a couple of times. Worse with the GoPro 7 that just stopped recording video multiple times. Hence the short walks.
