Sydney Travel Guide 2022 - Best Places to Visit in Sydney Australia in 2022

Sydney, capital of New South Wales and one of Australia's largest cities, is best known for its harbourfront Sydney Opera House, with a distinctive sail-like design. Massive Darling Harbour and the smaller Circular Quay port are hubs of waterside life, with the arched Harbour Bridge and esteemed Royal Botanic Garden nearby. Sydney Tower’s outdoor platform, the Skywalk, offers 360-degree views of the city and suburbs.

Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. With an area of 7,617,930 square kilometres, Australia is the largest country by area in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country.

SYDNEY TRAVEL TIPS: 13 Things to Know Before You Go

Everything YOU need to know before you go to Sydney Australia. Located on Australia’s southeastern coast, Sydney is Australia's largest and oldest city with a population of 5.2M Sydneysiders. Sydney is considered one of the most diverse cities in the world, with more than 40% of the population originally hailing from outside Australia. While originally Sydney started life as a British prison colony, it’s now most well known for it’s amazing harbor, magnificent beaches, delicious cuisine, all wrapped up in a modern city with classic British roots, that remains distinctly Australian. All these things combined make Sydney one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

4 Best Things To Do In Sydney Australia | Vlog 1 of 3

Sydney has SO many epic things to do, we've hand picked 4 of our fav things to see, do and explore in the Sydney CBD — do you agree?... ???? Learn how to edit video with Dane — ⬇ More Below ⬇

From the bridge climb to Luna Park, exploring The Rocks and cruising in Darling Harbour - Sydney has so many things to do!

Thanks for checking out this first vlog from this 3-part Sydney Australia series. This one's a little different, normally we film each day as it's own travel vlog but there are so many things to do in Sydney, so many things to see and activities to look into we decided to pick 4 we were really looking forward to and combine them into one video!

For us, the best thing to do in Sydney CBD is the bridge climb! It's not the cheapest activity in the city but it's got a long run time and you just won't get an experience and view like it — check out the different options here

Next up is less of an activity and more of a something cool to see kind of thing... and it's free! Circular Quay is super popular, but we really liked exploring The Rocks, a unique and historic part of Sydney that's worth a look.

Luna Park is definitely worth a visit, you can't help but smile in a theme park like this. Luna Park is in both Sydney and Melbourne but the Sydney park has had heaps of upgrades recently and is easy to reach from the CBD or down town with a ferry or Uber. Check out all the rides and prices here

And last up is a cruise out from Darling Harbour with Captain Cook Cruises, which by the way, is legit value for money. 2 course meal and a cruise for what's currently on sale at $79 AUD? That's a wicked good price point for what you get! Check out the Darling Harbour cruise options here

Stay tuned, lots more Sydney vlogs to come!

In this video we check out 4 really awesome alternatives to popular Sydney tourist attractions here in Australia. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the list of attractions i mentioned, i just wanted to throw some other options for you to consider when you do make a visit to sydney :) In order of appearance:

1. Bridge Climb Alternative: Sydney Pylon Lookout
Now one of most iconic landmarks of Sydney, is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can drive across it, take a train across it and even walk across it.
but one of the most unique experiences would be to actually climb the bridge and get to the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Having said that the bridge climb costs anywhere between $268 - $400 dollars and might not suit everyone's budget.

The alternative to the Bridge Climb is to get on top of one of the Sydney Harbour Pylons. The south east pylon has been open to the public since 1934 and takes around 200 steps to get to the very top. Here, you get sweeping views of the city of Sydney, the water, the Opera house and of course, front row seats to the Sydney Harbour Bridge itself.

Address: 100 cumberland street the rocks sydney 2000
Entry fees: $19 AUD per adult

2. Sydney Cruise / Water taxi Alternative: Take a Ferry!
You can explore and experience the amazing sights by simply taking one of Sydney’s Ferries. If you’re short on time, take the ferry from Darling Harbour to Circular Quay, it’s around 20 minutes and you zip under the bridge and around the opera house. Alternatively if you have a bit more time, take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly.

Go on the ferry on a Sunday, the prices are capped at $2.80, so you can take all the ferries, to manly and back, around the harbour, all for $2.80.

3. Fine Dining Alternative : William Blue Dining

If you are looking for a fine dining experience, one place I’d really recommend you try is a placed called William Blue Dining, where you can enjoy affordable multi award winning fine dining at The Rocks.

Every time that I’m there, It is always an enjoyable dining experience - we always get amazing service and a delicious meal prepared by chefs in training. Going for the full 3 course would set you back $46, which is a fraction of what fine dining typically costs here in Sydney.

Address:
107 George St, The Rocks NSW 2000
Full 3 course meal: $46 AUD

4. Sydney Tower Eye: Blu Bar on 36
Although not as high as Sydney Tower Eye, being on the 36th floor, you are floating high above The Rocks., And with the 29 dollars you would’ve spent on admission fees, at the Sydney Tower Eye, why not grab a couple beers or one of their signature cocktails instead?
Address: 176 Cumberland St, Sydney NSW 2000

1 day in Sydney | The TOP Things to do in Sydney

Our time in Australia on our working holiday is coming to an end but we were able to fit in one last trip to Sydney. After getting another relocation rental from Melbourne to Sydney, we stopped off in Wollongong and the Royal National Park before arriving in Sydney.

We spent a day soaking in the sights of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge at Circular Quay, walked to the best views at Mrs Macquarie's Chair and explored the Rocks. We also paid a last visit to our favourite happy hour location - you HAVE to check this place out when you're in Sydney!
