With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde and Martinique, Saint Lucia is our fifth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in the Caribbean and then to many more beautiful destinations! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. This was an amazing trip for my Queen's Birthday. St Lucia blew our minds with spectacular views, waterfalls, amazing food, beautiful sights, and adventure. To get into St Lucia as a vaccinated traveler this past summer, we needed a negative COVID-19 test within the last 5 days and a completed travel authorization form before landing. (***CHECK CDC WEBSITE FOR COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENT UPDATES FOR VACCINATED AND UNVACCINATED TRAVELERS HEADING BACK INTO THE US: ). Saint Lucia as a tourist is very expensive as many resorts start at over $1,000 USD per day. See the World, Save a Dollar is the motto and it was difficult to do it on this trip. We did so much and stayed within our budget of $1,200 for 5 days including flights, accommodations, food, attractions, and souvenirs.

Some of the many awesome things to do on the island of St. Lucia include hiking the Pitons, laying on the beaches, going to the sulfur hot springs, and eating the cuisine. Some may furrow their brow upon hearing mention of the Pitons, but the strangely named dual landmarks are simply volcanic spires that offer tourists some incredibly challenging hikes. There are numerous peaceful beaches lining the coasts of St. Lucia, and two of the most popular are Anse Chastanet Beach and Reduit Beach. Anse Chastanet Beach is quieter, while Reduit Beach is more popular and crowded.
Some great sulfur hot springs can be found at the Soufriere Drive In Volcano, which is centered on a bubbling steam crater. Visitors can take volcanic mud baths and then clean off in the relaxingly warm water, which features plenty of naturally occurring minerals. Finally, visitors to St. Lucia may want to get a taste of some of the unique dishes being offered on the island, from the Creole stew known as “bouyon” to the thin bread known as “roti”.
