Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.

We start the day by taking the TeleferiQo Cable Car up to see the impressive views of the city. We then head back into old town to explore and wander around a bit. After eating a typical almuerzo for lunch we climbed to the top of the Basílica del Voto Nacional. We are also giving you a room tour of where we stayed in the heart of old town at Casa Anabela.

BEST of QUITO ECUADOR - Everything to Do and See in 24 HOURS (Worth Visiting?)
In today's video, I will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador! Quito is the capital of Ecuador, with an estimated population of 2.8 million in its metropolitan area. It is also the capital of the province of Pichincha. Quito is located in a valley on the eastern slopes of Pichincha, an active stratovolcano in the Andes, at an elevation of 2,850 m (9,350 ft), making it the second-highest capital city in the world. It is also near the large volcano or Cotopaxi which tourists flock to hike the volcano yearly.
From Banos, Ecuador, I took the bus and headed to Quito. When I arrived, I headed straight to El TeleferiQo, a gondola lift running from the edge of the city center up the east side of Pichincha Volcano to lookout Cruz Loma. It is one of the highest aerial lifts in the world, rising from 3,117 m (10,226 ft) to 3,945 m. Afterward, I then headed to La Mitad del Mundo and visited the Museo Intinan along the way. There, I walked along the equatorial line, balanced an egg, and learned about the rotational forces of the global at the equator, in the northern, and southern hemispheres.
Lastly, I headed to The Basilica del Voto Nacional in Quito and then walked around the city center in Centro Historico. The Centro Historico in Quito is also a UNESCO site. Join me on this adventure in the capital of one of the world's most biologically diverse countries, Quito, Ecuador!

What should you eat in Ecuador? How about Popcorn as a Side Dish? Grubs in the Amazon? Yes there are some interesting foods in Ecuador and here are our five favorite Ecuadorian dishes you should eat when you visit Ecuador.
The Food in Ecuador:
1. The Soups: Secos (Stews), Sopa (Soup) are all quite tasty. The best is Locro de Papas a creamy potato soup found throughout Ecuador. Caldo de Gallina (Chicken soup) is also a winner.
2. The Pigs: Hornado, Fritada or just simple guinea pig (guy) are all foods you will enjoy while traveling Ecuador.
3. Seafood: Ceviche, Corvina, Trout, there are a lot of great seafood and fish dishes in Ecuador to enjoy.
4. The Treats: The snacks you will find throughout Ecuador come in three typical varieties, corn based, banana based, or

1. Historic Center: it’s the largest and best-preserved in South America.
2. Teleférico: is one of the main tourist attractions in the city and an emblematic place to take photos.
3. Panecillo: It’s a natural elevation of 3,000 meters above sea level, it was baptized with this name because of its resemblance to a small bread.
4. Mitad del Mundo: located in the north of Quito, is home to the famous Monument to the Equator, built in honor of the imaginary line that divides the planet into northern and southern hemispheres.
5. Pululahua, one of Ecuador’s hidden treasures, it is a potentially active volcano and its crater is one of the two inhabited in the world.
6. Guápulo, is considered an artsy, bohemian neighborhood of Quito, is home to many local artists and some coffee/bars located along the Camino de Orellana street.
7. Parks, in Quito there are some green areas that invite you to relax, and be active.
8. Museums in Quito are worth a visit, as they provide interesting information and facts about the history of Quito and Ecuador.
9. Shopping centers are a characteristic of big cities.
