MORE INFO ABOUT THE VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Spain is a complex country! It’s also a pretty easy going one. But there are certain things that you just don’t want to get wrong. And here they are!

11. Don’t go OTT on please and thank you.
In Spanish we just don’t use the words as much. We are more likely to work ‘please’ and ’thank you’ into the tone of how we speak, or by tweaking the words (such as adding “ito” to the end of a word).

10. Don’t put bread on your plate.
In Spain, you always leave your bread beside your plate on the table. It sites beside your cutlery, because it kind of is a piece of cutlery.

9. Don’t eat with your hand under the table.
I grew up with no elbows on the table. But here in Spain we also have the rule that you should have your hands above the table at all times. Because you might have a knife??

8. Don’t offer guests a beer at 5pm
Because we eat lunch and dinner later, beer o’clock is usually about 8pm… not 5pm.

7. Don’t help with the dishes after parties.
It’s just not something that’s done here. At the end of a party or dinner party, you might help tidy up slightly, but you don’t help do the dishes.

6. Don’t be a ‘pesado’ in social situations.
Chill out! Don’t ask people what their job is straight away when you meet them in a social setting and don’t expect people to cut to the chase when telling a story - we take our time here!

5. Don’t misinterpret loud conversations.
When Yoly speaks with her mother on the phone, it can get heated. But they’re not arguing - it’s just that conversations here often sound more intense.

4. Don’t generalise about Spain.
This is a highly regional country. So don’t assume that every region of Spain has the same language, customs or food.

3. Don’t call Catalan a dialect of Spanish.
Catalan is its own language - and don’t get that wrong (especially when speaking to a Catalan)

2. Don’t used ‘usted’ willy nilly.
Here in Spain we’re pretty informal and so don’t use “usted” unless we’re speaking with older people or in very formal situations.

1. Don’t mention the civil war casually.
The Spanish civil war and the dictatorship is a really complex topic, and still an open wound in Spain. So wait until you know someone pretty well before diving into the topic.

Hello, viewers.
This video is a trip to Pamplona, a very nice city located in northern Spain.
It is a Basque city and the city of the pilgrimage to Santiago.
Please watch until the end to see what the old town looks like in the early evening on the weekend.

Pamplona, historically also known as Pampeluna in English, is the capital city of the Chartered Community of Navarre, in Spain. It is also the third-largest city in the greater Basque cultural region.

Lying at near 450 m (1,480 ft) above sea level, the city (and the wider Cuenca de Pamplona) is located on the flood plain of the Arga river, a second-order tributary of the Ebro. Precipitation-wise, it is located in a transitional location between the rainy Atlantic northern façade of the Iberian Peninsula and its drier inland. Early population in the settlement traces back to the late Bronze to early Iron Age, even if the traditional inception date refers to the foundation of Pompaelo by Pompey during the Sertorian Wars circa 75 BCE. During Visigothic rule Pamplona became an episcopal see, serving as a staging ground for the Christianization of the area. It later became one of the capitals of the Kingdom of Pamplona/Navarre.

The city is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually from July 6 to July 14. This festival was brought to literary renown with the 1926 publication of Ernest Hemingway's novel The Sun Also Rises. It is also home to Osasuna, the only Navarrese football club to have ever played in the Spanish top division.

What to do in Pamplona? Here is our top !0, enjoy!

Pamplona is a city located in the northern region of Spain, known as Navarra. It is the capital city of the province of Navarra and has a population of around 200,000 people. The city is situated on the banks of the Arga River and is surrounded by mountains, making it a picturesque location.

Pamplona has a long and interesting history. It was founded by the Romans in the 1st century BC and was an important location during the Middle Ages. The city was a key point along the Camino de Santiago, a famous pilgrimage route that runs through northern Spain. In the 16th century, Pamplona became the capital of the Kingdom of Navarra, and it remained an important political and cultural center throughout the following centuries.

Today, Pamplona is known for its lively festivals, beautiful architecture, and rich cultural heritage. One of the city's most famous events is the San Fermín festival, which takes place every year in July. This festival is best known for its running of the bulls, in which participants run in front of a group of bulls through the streets of the city. The festival also includes music, dancing, and other cultural events.

In addition to its festivals, Pamplona is also home to a number of impressive historical and cultural landmarks. One of the most notable is the Citadel of Pamplona, a 16th-century fortress that was built to protect the city from attack. The Citadel is now a popular tourist attraction and features a number of museums and exhibitions.

Another must-see attraction in Pamplona is the Cathedral of Santa María la Real, a stunning Gothic cathedral that dates back to the 14th century. The cathedral is home to a number of important religious relics, including the remains of Saint Fermin, the patron saint of the city.

Pamplona is also known for its beautiful parks and gardens. One of the most popular is the Taconera Park, which is located just outside the city walls. This park features a number of walking trails, as well as a zoo and botanical garden.

Food is an important part of the culture in Pamplona, and the city is known for its delicious cuisine. Some of the most popular dishes include pintxos, small snacks that are typically served with drinks, and bacalao al ajoarriero, a traditional dish made with cod and garlic.

Overall, Pamplona is a vibrant and exciting city with a rich cultural heritage. Whether you're interested in history, festivals, or delicious food, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful city.
