Lefkada Island offers a wide variety of beaches - from small natural beaches to popular long beaches, with bars and activities such as paragliding or kitesurfing. From white sandy beaches to sandy beaches to calm shallow water beaches, ideal for families and children. The beaches on the west side of the island are truly stunning, thanks to their blue color and stunning scenery, with steep cliffs and huge rocks, forming natural islands in the sea. The beaches to the east are sheltered from the wind and usually calm and safe - probably preferred by families with small children.

Top Beaches in Lefkada, Greece: Agios Ioannis & The Hidden Beach of Krioneri | Travel Video
Lefkada island is one of the top summer destinations you must visit if you're coming to Greece. Familiar to many, Lefkada is known for the beautiful and exotic beaches with the endless blue and turquoise waters, the excellent Mediterranean cuisine enriched with local delicacies and of course the various spots perfect for sports like wind surfing and kitesurf.
While most of the people choose to visit the island's most well know beaches like Egremni, Porto Katsiki, Agios Nikitas, Kathisma and Agiofili, I chose to show you one gorgeous beach you've probably never heard of. The beach is called Krioneri (meaning cold water) and located at the far end of Agios Ioannis beach.
There you'll meet the church of Agios Ioannis Antzousis. Pass the church, go up the stairs and you find a narrow path which at one point is quite dangerous if you're visiting with kids, so be very careful. Prefer not to carry to many things as you'll have a hard time getting back and also due to the fact that the beach is tiny. The waters as you see in the video are crystal clear with amazing color and the water temperature is just right to keep you cool under the hot sun.
On you're way back there are many options as far as food goes and the beach of Agios Ioannis is truly amazing to go swimming also. At the other side of the beach (east side) you'll meet the old windmills of Lefkada and there, a true spectacle awaits for you. This is probably the most famous spot on the island for kite surfers and you can sit on the beach and watch them for hours doing their tricks both on water and on the air.
