BEST Italian Food in Verona - 2 Traditional Dishes YOU MUST EAT

Going to Verona, Italy? Then, I got you. Here are 2 typical Veronese dishes you must try. Join me and find out more!

Risotto tastasal (risotto al tastasal, risotto tastasale), this salty and creamy rice dish is a traditional first course (primo) in Veneto region and particularly Veronese cuisine. Today, tastasal is a mixture of mainly pork, salt and other spices. But the meaning of tastasal is to taste the salt, and refers to a traditional procedure done by housewives in Verona when preparing sausage meat. Hence, risotto was used to test the degree of salting. And if it was tasty, then it was suitable for the meat.

Potato Gnocchi, an Italian traditional dish that has been around for ages and can be found in different variations across Italy. Potato gnocchi are small Italian dumplings of potatoes, wheat flour and eggs. The traditional version of this dish comes with a light tomato sauce, parmesan cheese (or other) and often with some sautéed vegetables. Potato gnocchi are of great importance to the Veronese people due to its connection to the Carnival. They are celebrated on the final Friday (Venerdì Gnocolar). But, they are still eaten throughout the year.

Both these dishes can be found on restaurants serving traditional Veronese food. So, what to eat in Verona? Enjoy this Verona food tour.

Risotto Tastasal and Potato Gnocchi at:

Not only does the Veronese cuisine include well-known Italian foods, but also many Italian traditional desserts and pastries. If you are a foodie, then Verona is for you.

Verona is more than just the food though. Being an ancient city, it is home to many historic attractions; World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, Verona is the setting for William Shakespeare’s Rome and Juliet, and therefore a very popular travel destination for romance.

Italian Street Food!! ???? ???????? World’s Most Famous Sandwich - Florence, Italy!!

???????? Best Italian Food in Milan:
???? T-shirts:
???? Ghost Chili:

FLORENCE, ITALY - Today we’re going on an ultimate Italian food tour in Florence, Italy. We’ll eat some of the most legendary street food, iconic dishes, and then end with a truly authentic and rare Florentine meal for dinner. Get ready to eat your way through Florence!

Friends in the video:
Edoardo Celadon (@MostOfItaly - Edoardo can arrange you the best and most authentic food experiences throughout Italy!
Jeffrey Merrihue:
Hamid Sepidnam:

Here’s all the Italian food we ate in Florence:

All’Antico Vinaio, Florence, Italy ( - We’re starting off this Italian street food tour with what is easily one of the world’s most famous sandwiches from All’Antico Vinaio. Their bread is immaculate, right out of the oven. I tried three different sandwiches, all of which were outstanding:
Sandwich 1: Favolosa - Sbriciolona salami, cream of pecorino cheese, artichokes, spicy eggplants
Sandwich 2: La Inferno - Roast suckling pig, spicy cream, spicy eggplant, rocket
Sandwich 3: La Paradiso - Mortadella, stracciatella cheese, pistachios

Tripperia Pollini Lampredotto - You can visit Florence without trying their beloved lampredetto, a sandwich made with the cow’s 4th stomach (abomasum). Traditionally it’s just served with salt and pepper, but with some herb oil and chili oil it really bumps up the flavor.

Vivoli Gelato - Continuing with this Italian food tour with had a Gran Crema Caffè Vivoli (Affogato) - Cream gelato with coffee, at one of the original and historical gelato shops - it was delicious!

Tripe sandwich: Da' Vinattieri - Edoardo next brought us into an alley to eat Trippa alla Fiorentina - Florence style tripe sandwich, which is slightly different from the lampredetto we had already eaten earlier.

La Sorbettiera - After trying the original and old style gelato affogato, we then needed to try a modern gelato spot.

Cibrèo Ristorante, Florence, Italy ( - Finally, along with all the street food, we decided to sit down for a massive higher end dinner to highlight some of the true and nearly forgotten Italian dishes of Florence. We tried the massive Antipasto, Collo di pollo ripieno - stuffed chicken neck, Tagliolini cacio e burro - pasta with cheese and butter, Roastbeef del Cibrèo Caffè - roast beef with butter sauce, and finally Cibrèo - chicken and rooster organs in egg and lemon sauce! What a meal, highly recommended and thank you again for Edoardo for arranging it.

Thank you again to Edoardo Celadon (@MostOfItaly for arranging this incredible day of food in Florence! He can arrange authentic Italian food tours throughout Italy.
